Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must possess the educational qualifications as stated below for applying to the programmes.
  • M.Sc. in Forestry: 4-year Bachelor of Science in Forestry with a CGPA 6.5 on a 10 point scale or 60% marks in aggregate. 5% marks relaxation will be given to SC/ST/PWD Category.
  • M.Sc. in Physics/Mathematics: B.Sc. in Physics/Mathematics with 55% marks in aggregate (Pass Course) and 50% marks in major/honours subject. 5% marks relaxation will be given to SC/ST/PWD Category.
  • M.Sc. in Chemistry: B.Sc. in Chemistry with Mathematics having 55% marks in aggregate and 50% marks for major/honours in chemistry. 5% marks relaxation will be given to SC/ST/PWD Category.
  • M. Tech.: B. Tech. or equivalent degree with a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale or 60% marks in aggregate for General Category with a valid GATE score. Candidates without a valid GATE score will also be considered, subject to the availability of seats.
  • MBA: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline/course approved by the UGC or AICTE, with 55% marks in aggregate. Additionally, for the MBA (Part-time) program, a minimum of 5 years of managerial-level work experience is also required.
  • Ph.D. (Full Time & Part Time): Candidates having Master’s Degree in Engineering and Technology with 60% marks in aggregate or CGPA of 6.5 on 10-point scale and 55% marks in aggregate in Sciences/ Humanities and Social Sciences/Management for the General category. 

 

Application Process

  • Candidates must apply for NEPGET 2024 “Online” only by logging in the official website www.neeonline.ac.in or www.nerist.ac.in
  • Steps to be followed for filling the online application:
  • Step 1: Register yourself for the online application process at www.neeonline.ac.in or through institute website www.nerist.ac.in
  • Step 2: Activate your online Application with the Email ID and Your Activation Code; send it to your submitted Email ID / Mobile No in registration process.
  • Step 3: Selection of the Program Type & Program Name and check the eligibility.
  • Step 4: The applicant is required to upload a scanned image file of his/her Photograph and Signature.
  • Step 5: Payment of fees through online mode only.

 

 

Application Fee 

  • Application fee for all category candidates: Rs.1500/- + bank transaction charges
  • Mode of Payment: Through online Credit Card/Debit Card/ATM-cum-Debit card

 

Selection Process

  • Institute shall admit PG/Ph.D.students through an Entrance Test. The selection procedure is as follows:

 

Ph.D. Programs: 

  • A candidate with valid GATE score/NET including JRF (UGC/CSIR/ICAR) will be exempted from entrance examination for admission in Ph.D. However, they have to mandatorily appear in the interview conducted by the respective Departments/Centre.
  • The written examination shall be conducted for all those candidates who are not exempted from the written test.
  • There will be a single question paper for each Department/Centre with 100 multiple-choice questions of one mark each. There will be two sections in the question paper. The Section-A will be of 50 marks from Research Methodology, which is common for all the Engineering, Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences Departments; and the Centre for Management Studies. The questions in Section-B will be from the respective Departments/Centre for 50 marks. For the syllabi of Ph.D. entrance test, please refer to Annexure – VI.
  • The cut-off to qualify the written test will be 50 marks including both the sections A and B. A relaxation of 5% marks will be allowed in the entrance examination for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/Differently-abled/EWS categories.
  • The selection will be based on a weightage of 70% for the written test and 30% for the performance in the interview.

 

P.G. Programs

  • A candidate with valid GATE score will be exempted from entrance examination for admission in M.Tech./M.Sc. programmes.
  • Written Test shall be conducted for the candidates who do not have valid GATE/CAT/MAT score for admission in M.Tech./M.Sc./MBA
  • There shall be 100 questions of one mark each in the written test.
  • There will be 25% negative marking for each incorrect answer.
  • The candidates for MBA will have to appear in the written test and group discussion/personal interview, which will be conducted in the Centre for Management Studies (CMS), subject to the following conditions:
    • Weightage for the written test and group discussion/personal interview will be 75% and 25%, respectively.
    • Only the CAT/MAT qualified candidates will be exempted from the written test.
    • Candidates having a valid CAT score will be given full weightage of allotted written test marks, while for those candidates having a valid MAT score will be given 80 marks (80% weightage).
    • If a candidate with a valid MAT Score wants to appear in written test, the candidate will be allowed to appear in the examination. In this case, the written test score of the candidate will be considered in place of the MAT score.
    • The list of provisionally selected candidates will be made on the basis of total marks.
