Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore announces Admission to M. Tech through CFTI Mode of Entry, 1-Year M. Engg. and Joint M. Tech Program 2024

 

IISc Bangalore M.Tech, M.Engg. & Joint M.Tech Admission 2024 – Applications are invited from eligible applicants for admission to (1) M. Tech programme through CFTI Mode of Entry (2) 1-Year Master of Engineering (M. Engg.) and (3) Joint M. Tech program with Taiwanese Universities for the Academic session 2024-25.

(1) M. Tech Program through CFTI Mode of Entry

(2) 1-Year Master of Engineering (M. Engg.) Program

  • The Centre for Nanoscience and Engineering (CeNSE) is launching a one-year M. Engg in Semiconductor Technology from the Academic year 2024-25 (Aug’24). The objective is to align with the India Semiconductor Mission to cater to the fast-growing semiconductor ecosystem in the country in particular and the world in general. The semiconductor industry is vast and has its requirements not just from the core subjects but from a vast range of fields. This program is designed to be attractive to students from multiple streams & backgrounds while at the same time aligning with the current industrial relevance of semiconductor technology vis-a-vis the demand for skilled workforce and cutting-edge R&D in semiconductor technology.

 

(3) Joint M. Tech Program with Taiwanese Universities

  • A Joint Master’s degree between the Centre for Nanoscience and Engineering, IISc, and Taiwanese Universities is being launched from the Academic Year 2024-25 to enable a strong relationship between Indian academia and the semiconductor industry in Taiwan. This program enables students to access the semiconductor workplace during their Master’s program through academic/industry internships and projects. This helps India stay abreast in the cutting-edge semiconductor technology employment sector as per the India Semiconductor Mission. The collaborating Taiwanese universities include: National University of Taiwan, National Chiao Tung Yang Ming University, National Tsing Hua University, and National Sun Yat-Sen University.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Tech Programme through CFTI Mode of Entry
  • Graduates of any course with a minimum duration of Four years, from any Centrally Funded Technical Institution with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 out of 10 or its equivalent as applicable to individual departments/ disciplines are eligible to apply for this programme under CFTI Mode of Entry without qualifying in GATE. 1-Year Master of Engineering (M. Engg.) Program

  • Applicants possessing a minimum of Second Class or equivalent in BE / B Tech or equivalent degree in any discipline (with GATE paper in EC, EE, IN, ME, MT, XE-C), M Sc or equivalent degree in Electronics or in Physics (with GATE in EC, IN, PH paper). The GATE score card should be valid as of 01 August 2024. OR
  • Graduates of any course with a minimum duration of Four years, from any Centrally Funded Technical Institution with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 out of 10, are eligible to apply for this programme under CFTI Mode of Entry without qualifying in GATE. Joint M. Tech Programme with Taiwanese Universities

  • Same as IISc’s MTech in Semiconductor Technology when IISc is the parent institute. Applicants possessing a minimum of Second Class or equivalent in BE / B Tech or equivalent degree in any discipline (with GATE paper in EC, EE, IN, ME, MT, XE-C), M Sc or equivalent degree in Electronics or in Physics (with GATE in EC, IN, PH paper). The GATE score card should be valid as of 01 August 2024. OR
  • Graduates of any course with a minimum duration of Four years, from any Centrally Funded Technical Institution with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 out of 10, are eligible to apply for this programme under CFTI Mode of Entry without qualifying in GATE. Tech Programme through CFTI Mode of Entry Selection is based on 70% weightage on CAM (Career Analysis Marks) score + 30% performance in the interview
  • Artificial Intelligence : Selection is based on 70%  weightage on CAM (Career Analysis Marks) score + 30% performance in the written test

 

1-Year Master of Engineering (M. Engg.) Programme

  • For GATE qualified applicants: Selection is based on 70% GATE score + 30% performance in the interview.
  • For students from CFTIs (Graduates of any course with a minimum duration of 4 years) with CGPA ≥ 8.0: Selection is based on 70% weightage on CAM (Career Analysis Marks) score + 30% performance in the interview.

 

Joint M. Tech Programme with Taiwanese Universities

  • For GATE qualified applicants: Selection is based on 70% GATE score + 30% performance in the interview.
