Eligibility Criteria
PhD
- Candidates should have
- A Master’s Degree (bachelor’s degree obtained in 10+2+3 pattern, followed by a master’s degree) or a Post Graduate Diploma (2 years) in any discipline, with at least 55*# percent marks in the bachelor’s as well in the master’s degrees. (OR)
- A professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS with at least 50*# percent marks and B. Com/Degree with 55*# percent marks (OR)
- 4 year / 8 semesters bachelor’s degree (10+2+4 pattern) with at least 6.5 CGPA or equivalent.
- Note: To apply for the Production and Operations Management area, Graduation and/or Post Graduation in Science/Mathematics/ Management/ Engineering is mandatory.
- To apply for the Strategy area, a minimum two years of post- qualification full time work experience Is mandatory.

- Applicants opting for GMAT or GRE should upload a copy of their official GMAT scores along with the application. Applicants who have not received the official scorecard, should upload the TEST TAKER COPY along with the application, but submit the OFFICIAL SCORECARD before the interviews.
- Candidates should get their GMAT scores officially reported to the Institute using the code: NF 1-2C-79.
- Candidates should get their GRE scores officially reported to the Institute using the code: 4424
- Applicants opting for Common Admission Test (CAT 2023) should provide their CAT 2023 registration number in the online application. The CAT 2023 scores made available to IIMV will be used in the assessment of the application.
- Applicants opting for GATE or JRF (NET) score should upload their valid SCORECARD along with the application.
Executive PhD
- A master’s degree (bachelor’s degree obtained in 10+2+3 pattern, followed by a master’s degree) or a Post Graduate Diploma (2 years) in any discipline, with at least 55*# percent marks in the bachelor’s as well in the master’s degrees. (or)
- A professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS with at least 50*# percent marks and B. Com/Degree with 55* percent marks. (or)
- 4 year / 8 semesters bachelor’s degree (10+2+4 pattern) with at least 6.5 CGPA or equivalent. (And)
- A minimum 10 years of full-time work experience in managerial, executive, or professional roles following graduation is mandatory as on 31 March 2024.
- Age Limit : There is no upper age limit for the candidates. The candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of work experience at the supervisory or above level in Government, autonomous bodies, research centres, PSUs, educational institutes, or private organizations.
- Only Indian nationals residing in India are eligible to apply for PDF.
- Applicants must have a consistently good academic record and demonstrated research potential.
- The age limit for applications for the PDFs is 35 years (this limit may be relaxed by 5 years for Women, PwD, SC/ST, OBC and EWS applicants).
- Candidates should have a PhD degree from a centrally funded institution of high repute like IIMs, IITs, IISERs, IISc Bangalore, Central Universities, or such other globally recognized Indian or foreign institutions of comparable standards as may be decided by IIMV.
- Candidates should apply within three years of obtaining PhD degree. The thesis must be in appropriate management disciplines.
- Those who have submitted their thesis for PhD degree may also apply. However, such candidates are expected to complete the PhD programme and submit provisional degree certificate at the time of joining as PDF.
- From the PhD thesis, the applicant should have at least one research publication (n<=4) in ABDC (A) or higher category journals. PhD chair and with consultation with area chair will confirm that paper is part of PhD thesis or not.
PDF – Stipend and Other Benefits
- Each Fellowship will carry a monthly stipend of ₹ 75,000/ p.m. consolidated.
- In addition, there will be a contingency grant of ₹ 2,00,000/- (upper limit) for attending reputed international/national conferences during their entire tenure in the postdoctoral program with prior approval of Committee.
- Office space will be provided to the PDF.
- There shall be no other compensation, allowance, benefit, or facility.
- Candidates receiving any other fellowship (e.g., Fulbright, ICSSR) shall be given office space only.
- Candidates leaving the Institute without having publication or acceptance thereof, with IIMV affiliation, in at least one ABDC-B category journal will have to refund the contingency grant availed, in one go in lump sum, without which, relieving letter will not be issued.

Selection Process
- PhD : Based on the information provided by the applicants, selected candidates will be shortlisted (on the recommendation of the respective areas) and called to Visakhapatnam for an interview.
- Exe PhD : The shortlisting of the candidates for PI will be based on the Statement of Purpose (SOP), previous academic qualifications, and professional accomplishments.
- Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program : Applicants fulfilling the eligibility criteria should submit a Statement of Purpose (SOP) not exceeding 2000 words and should include a title, research motivation, possible research approaches, and two references.
- The eligible applications will be evaluated based on the SOP and its fit with the research interests of IIMV faculty members.
- The shortlisted candidates will be invited to present their research work/research interests/research proposal before a PDF Selection Committee (PSC). A personal interview will follow the research presentation. The PSC shall be constituted by the Director.
- Drawing upon the recommendations from the selection process, IIMV may make the PDF offers, identifying the Reporting Faculty Member.
