Important Dates

  • Start of Online Application : 23rd August, 2022
  • Last date for submission of online application : 09th September, 2022 upto 05.00 p.m.
  • Announcement of candidates shortlisted for online/offline personal interviews : Will be communicated on the respective emails of the candidates, in due course of time
  • Declaration of results : Will be communicated on the respective emails of the candidates in due course of time

 

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate should have a Postgraduate degree in any branch of Life Sciences/Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/Health Sciences with at least 55% or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA). Students belonging to reserved category will be eligible for 5% relaxation.
  • The candidates should have a valid Junior Research Fellowship from CSIR/ UGC/ICMR/ DBT/ BINC/ DST-INSPIRE fellowship or Teacher fellowship. Candidates who have qualified GATE, or are selected in the categories of Lectureship in CSIR-UGC (NET), DBT- Category II and JRF under research schemes of ICMR are not eligible. ICMR-NIV does not take any responsibility to provide financial assistance to the candidates.
  • The terms and conditions of the fellowship will be as per the norms of the respective funding agency. 
  • Candidates should have a strong motivation to pursue research in virology leading to a Ph.D. degree. Students with a postgraduate degree (as per UGC Minimum Standards and Procedures for Award of M. Phil and Ph.D. Degrees Regulations, 2016) and having valid fellowship from UGC /CSIR/ DBT/ ICMR/ DST-INSPIRE/ BINC/ Teacher fellowship are eligible to apply.

Interview

  • The names of the shortlisted candidates along with date and time for the interview will be displayed on the ICMR NIV and ICMR website in due course of time and also will be communicated to candidates via email in due course of time. Final selection of the candidate will be based on the performance in the online/offline personal interview.
