University of Delhi (DU) announces Admission to PhD Program 2023, Apply now

DU PhD Admission 2023 – University of Delhi invites application for admission to PhD Program offered in various disciplines for the Academic Session 2023.

In Phase I, only the candidates who are eligible on the basis of qualifying UGC-NET (including JRF)/ UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/ AYUSH-NET/DBT-JRF, ICMR-JRF, DST-INSPIRE or equivalent national level examination/fellowship (as identified by DRC)/ GATE/ teacher fellowship holders and others will be able to apply.

In Phase II, all eligible candidates will be able to apply. However, candidates who become eligible on the basis of appearing in the entrance test will be shortlisted for interviews after the declaration of the result of the entrance test.

Phase I

  • Registration Begins: July 12, 2023
  • Registration Closes: August 2, 2023
  • Interviews by Departments/Centres: August 16, 2023 to Saturday, September 16, 2023
  • Recommendation of DRC and BRS: Till September 26, 2023
  • Last Date for Payment of Fees: September 27, 2023

Phase II

  • Entrance Test (To be conducted by NTA): To be announced later
  • Registration Begins: After the declaration of Entrance Test Results

 

Eligibility Criteria

Common Eligibility Criteria for PhD

  • Master‘s degree or a professional degree in the same or allied subjects, declared equivalent to the Master‘s degree with minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade
  • A relaxation of 5% of marks or an equivalent relaxation of grade for those belonging to OBC(non-creamy layer)/SC/ST/ differently-abled.
  • In Phase I, only the candidates who are eligible on the basis of qualifying UGC-NET (including JRF)/ UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/ AYUSH-NET/DBT-JRF, ICMR-JRF, DST-INSPIRE or equivalent national level examination/fellowship (as identified by DRC)/ GATE/ teacher fellowship holders and others will be able to apply.

Application Process

  • All the candidates seeking admission to the PhD Program are required to register online on http://phd2023.uod.ac.in. Click the Help tab on the Portal to view the Step by Step Instructions to fill the Application Form.
  • Any first time user, in order to access the PhD Admission Portal, needs to register on the portal.
  • With a valid e-mail ID he / she can easily Register and generate login details by clicking on the -New User Registration button.
  • Read the information brochure carefully before filling the application form.
  • Candidates desirous of applying in Ph.D. Programs of the Department, requires to fill only single registration form
  • In case a candidate wishes to apply in more than one Program (in same or different Department) then the candidate shall fill separate registration form for each Program
  • It may be noted that the same Login details shall be used for all the registration forms filled by the candidate. Candidates shall be required to pay a separate registration fee for applying to each Program.

 

Application Fee

  • SC/ST/PwBD – Rs. 300/- for each course
  • Unreserved/EWS and OBC(NL) – Rs. 750/- for each course

 

 

Scheme of PhD Entrance Examination (Expected)

  • Mode of Examination: CBT (Computer Based Test)
  • Duration: 2 Hours
  • Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Question
  • Number of Questions: 50
  • Marks per question: 4 (four) for each correct response
  • Scoring: -1 negative marking for incorrect response
  • Medium of Paper: English only (Language Programs may have exception)
