Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates admitted to any of the programs and whose results are still awaited at the time of admission need to submit the marks card of the qualifying examination to the Dept. concerned latest by 31st August 2018
- The eligibility criteria mentioned in the following should be read in conjunction with the detailed criteria mentioned below
School of Social Sciences
- M.Phil.-Ph.D. (Economics): Master’s Degree in any discipline with 55% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently-Abled candidates)
- MPhil (Studies in Science, Technology &Innovation Policy): Master’s Degree in any discipline with 55% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently-Abled candidates)
- PhD (Social Management): Master’s Degree in any discipline with 55% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently-Abled candidates)

- PGDLIM (Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Library and Information Mgt.): A candidate shall be eligible for admission if he/she has passed the Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLISC) or Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science Exam recognized by the University
- M.Lib.I.Sc.(Two-year): Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline
School of Nano Sciences
- PhD (Nano Sciences): PG degree in Physics/ Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Science/Nano science/ Nanotechnology/ any area of Biological Sciences with55% marks (5% relaxation forSC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled candidates)
- M.Phil.-PhD (Nano Sciences): PG degree in Physics/ Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Science/Nanoscience/ Nanotechnology/ any area of Biological Sciences with55% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled candidates) M.Phil qualified candidates should have degree in Nano science or related stream.
- M.Sc. (Nanotechnology): UG degree in Physics/ Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Science/Nano science/ Nanotechnologyy/ any area of Biological Sciences with 50% marks in aggregate (5%relaxation for SC,ST,OBC,PWD candidates)
School of Education
- M.Phil. (Education): Master’s Degree in Education(M.Ed.) or a professional degree in education with 55% marks (5%relaxation for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently-Abled candidates)
- PhD (Education):Master’s Degree in Education(M.Ed.) or a professional degree in education with 55% marks (5%relaxation for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/ Differently-Abled candidates)
Other Programs
- B.Voc. Rational Approach to Drug Design): B. Voc. Intermediate or Equivalent (10 + 2)in Science Stream. There will be no Entrance test for admission to B.Voc. Program, merit list will be prepared based on the marks earned in qualifying degree
- Certificate Course in Analytical Technique for Visually Challenged (Six Months): Secondary School Certificate (10thstandard) or Equivalent. There will be no Entrance test for admission to ‘Certificate course in Analytical Technique for Visually Challenged’, merit list will be prepared based on the marks
- **The UGC-NET (including JRF)/ UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/SLET/GATE qualified candidates shall be exempted from CUG ENTRANCE TEST 2018 for admission to M.Phil. and M.Phil.-Ph.D. Integrated Programs
Selection Criteria
B.Voc. (Rational Approach to Drug Design) and Certificate
- Course in Analytical Technique for Visually Challenged Programs For admissions to B.Voc. Program and ‘Certificate Course in Analytical Technique for Visually Challenged’, there will be no entrance test
- The merit list will be prepared based on the marks earned in qualifying degree. However, such candidates are required to apply
Diploma, B.A., M.A., M.Sc., and M.Lib.I.Sc. Programs
- For admissions to Diploma, B.A. M.A., M.Sc., and M.Lib.I.Sc. programmes, candidates will be selected for admission as per the merit list prepared on the basis of the all India online computer-based entrance test
- The reservation will be applicable as per the reservation policy of Govt. of India
Research Programs (MPhil Integrated MPhil-PhD& Standalone PhD)
- The selection of candidates for admission to research programmes (M.Phil.; Integrated M.Phil.-Ph.D. and Ph.D.) would be based on a two-tier system (Written test and Interview) as prescribed by UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degrees)Regulations, 2016
Reservation
- Reservation for admissions to Diploma, UG, PG Programs Reservation of seats shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Act 2006 and Circulars of Govt. of India issued and amended in this regard from time to time
- 15% of seats will be reserved for SC, 7.5% for ST and 27% of seats will be reserved for OBC candidates belonging to the “non-creamy” layer
Application
- The online application form is available on the University Website: www.cug.ac.in from 09th June 2018. An Online Entrance Test will be conducted at various centres across India on 15th July 2018
- The application form, along with the Prospectus, can be downloaded from the University website: www.cug.ac.in
- Please note that the application form is to be submitted online only. The entrance test will be online computer based only at designated Centres across the country.
Application Fees
- One - Rs.500/- for General; Rs.250/- for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer); Rs.100/- for SC/ST
- More than One (maximum three) - Rs.600/- for General; Rs.350/- for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer); Rs.150/- for SC/ST
- Mode of Payment is online only
Admit Card
- Admit Card will be issued by the University only to those candidates who have submitted the Online Application Form complete in all respects on or before the last date of submission
- The candidates will need to download their Admit Card from the Admissions Page. The Admit Card must be produced at the Entrance Test Centre along with a photo identity of the candidate issued by a competent authority.
