Government of Karnataka  announces Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test KARTET 2018

KARTET 2018 - Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test - Government of Karnataka has invited applications for Karnataka Teachers Eligibility Test (KARTET) for hiring Teachers. Interested applicants willing to participate in the test are required to submit their online applications through KARTET 2018 from 05th Dec 2018 to 25th December 2018

  1. Name of the Exam: Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test 2018
  2. Dept. of Primary & Secondary Education, Karnataka is inviting application from the eligible candidates for the Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) - 2018
  3. Candidates who are willing to become Teachers for Classes I to VIII may appear for the Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) - 2018

Name of the Paper:

  1. 1. Paper-I: For Class 1 to 5
  2. 2. Paper-II: For Class 6 to 8
  3. The Govt. of Karnataka has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) to the Centralised Admission Cell (CAC), Bangalore

 

KARTET 2018 Important Dates

  1. Online Submission of application through Website: 05th Dec. to 25th December 2018
  2. Last Date for the Payment of Fee: 27th December 2018
  3. Downloading Admission Card: 23rd January 2019 onwards
  4. Date of Examination: 03rd February 2019 (Sunday)
  5. Date Scheduled for Karnataka TET Paper I: 03rd February 2019 from 09.30 to 12.00 hrs.
  6. Date Scheduled for Karnataka TET Paper II: 03rd February 2019 from 14.00 to 16.30 hrs.

 

Eligibility Criteria for KARTET 2018

Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V (Primary Stage-Paper-I):

  1. PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known); OR
  2. PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year or 4th year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed); or;
  3. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)* or;
  4. BA/B.Sc. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

 

Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes VI- VIII (Elementary Stage-Paper-II):

  1. B.A /B.Sc. Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) (or); BA/B.Sc. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) (or); PUC/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) (or);
  2. PUC/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A /B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed /B.Sc.Ed (or)
  3. BA/B.Sc. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year B.Ed. (Special Education)*

 

Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-VIII (Elementary Stage Paper I & II):

  1. PUC/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) (or); BA/B.Sc. Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
  2. Diploma/Degree Course in Teacher Education: For the purposes of this Notification, a Diploma/Degree course in teacher education recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) only shall be considered
  3. However, in case of Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.ED (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered

 

KARTET 2018 Exam Pattern

  1. As mentioned above there will be two papers in the KARTET 2018, Paper I for Primary Classes I to V and Paper II for Elementary Classes VI to VIII. Detailed Pattern for both Paper I and Paper II is provided below for your reference -

 

Paper I (for Classes I to V Primary Stage:

  1. Child Development & Pedagogy: 30 MCQs, 30 Marks
  2. Language-I: 30 MCQs, 30 Marks
  3. Language-II: 30 MCQs, 30 Marks
  4. Mathematics: 30 MCQs, 30 Marks
  5. Environmental Studies: 30 MCQs, 30 Marks
  6. KAR TET Syllabus consists of two Objective Type Question Papers. Each paper will consist of 150 MCQs and each question carries one marks totaling for 150 marks; duration of the exam - two-and-a-half hours
  7. Exam Date 03rd February 2019, 09.30 am to 12.00 noon (2.30 hrs)

 

Paper II (for Classes VI to VIII Elementary Stage:

  1. Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory): 30 MCQs, 30 Marks
  2. Language-I (compulsory): 30 MCQs, 30 Marks
  3. Language-II (compulsory): 30 MCQs, 30 Marks
  4. (a) For Mathematics & Science: 60 MCQs, 60 Marks, (b) For Social Studies/Social Science teacher: 60 MCQs, 60 marks
  5. KAR TET Syllabus consists of two Objective Type Question Papers. Each paper will consist of 150 MCQs and each question carries one marks totaling for 150 marks; duration of the examination - two-and-a-half hours

 

Language of the Question Paper

  1. The medium of question paper other than the languages shall be in English, Kannada, Urdu, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Marathi

 

KARTET 2018 Exam Fees

  1. Candidates are required to remit the Examination Fee of Rs.500/ for appearing in either of Paper-II or I
  2. In case of General/2A, 2B, 3A, 3B Group Candidates - Rs.1000/- for both Papers I & II
  3. In case of SC/ ST/CI Candidates - Rs.250/- for either of Paper-I or Paper-II   and Rs.400/- for both Papers I & II
  4. Service Charges will be charged Rs.10/- extra by the bank. The fee can be remitted in the following way through Computer generated Challan by depositing the prescribed fees in Cash to CAC Account with State Bank of Mysore

 

Duplicate Copy

  1. Candidates can get a duplicate copy of the Marks Statement or Eligibility Certificate by paying Rs.1000/- fees by way of DD in favour of “SPECIAL OFFICER, CAC, BANGALORE ” drawn on any nationalized bank, payable at Bangalore.

 

KARTET 2018 Application Procedure

  1. Candidates are required to apply via online mode only through the official portal. Applications will be accepted via online mode only. Direct link has been provided above for filling up the application form
  2. Step 1: Fill in the Online Application Form with "Registration" and "Login"
  3. Step 2: "Personal Details" and Generate Challan to pay examination Fee at SBM
  4. Step 3: Upload Scanned Images of Photograph and Signature
  5. Step 4: Last but not the least, Download the Confirmation page and Generate the print of submitted Application Form for your future reference.
  6. Candidates can apply online for KARTET-2018 through Dept. Website www.schooleducation.kar.nic.in on or before 25th December 2018
  7. Candidate particulars should be filled in online and the scanned JPEG images of photograph and signature should be uploaded at the time of filling the online application form.
  8. On completing the process of uploading all the relevant documents, the candidate should take a print of the computer-generated application containing the register no, candidate particulars, applied papers and complete address of the candidate.

 

KARTET Admission Card 2018

  1. The candidates may download their KARTET-2018 admission card from department website www.schooleducation.kar.nic.in from 23rd January 2019 onwards and appear for the exam at the given Centre
  2. In case of any discrepancy in the particulars of the candidate or his/her photograph and signatures shown in the admission card and downloaded Final online application the candidate may immediately contact CAC for necessary correction.
