Diplomate of National Board (DNB) announces  Post Diploma Centralized Entrance Test 2020 Admission in Post Diploma Courses

NATBOARD DNB PDCET 2020 - DNB PD-CET is mandatory eligibility-cum-ranking examination for entry to various Post Diploma (Secondary) DNB Courses. NATBOARD shall be conducting DNB-PD CET as a Computer Based Test (CBT) on 20th December 2019 at test centres across the country.

Diplomate of National Board conducted Post Diploma Centralized Entrance Test (PDCET) for 2020 Session. NBE at present conducts postgraduate and postdoctoral examinations in approved specialties leading to the award of Diplomate of National Board.

 

Introduction

  1. Govt. of India established the National Board of Examinations (NBE) in 1975 with the objective of improving the quality of the Medical Education by establishing high and uniform standards of postgraduate exams in modern medicine on an all India basis and utilizing existing infrastructure for capacity building
  2. The MCI has laid down standards for postgraduate examinations conducted by various medical colleges and affiliated to concerned universities and other institutions, yet the levels of proficiency and standards of evaluation vary considerably in these institutions
  3. The Exams conducted by NBE provide a common standard and mechanism of evaluation of minimum level of attainment of the knowledge and competencies of medical specialists. Moreover, intra country and international comparisons are facilitated with the availability of common evaluation mechanism

NATBOARD DNB PDCET 2020 Important Dates

  1. Availability of Information Bulletin: 11th October 2019
  2. Online Registration for DNB CET: 11th October - 31st October 2019
  3. Examination Dates for DNB CET: 20th December 2019
  4. Declaration of Result by 20th January 2020

 

Post Diploma DNB Courses

  1. Post Diploma DNB Courses are offered in the following specialties: Anesthesiology, Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy, Nuclear Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Oto-Rhino-Laryngologist, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Radio-Diagnosis, Radiotherapy, Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases/Pulmonary Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Pathology

Eligibility Criteria for NATBOARD DNB PDCET 2020

  1. Candidates who have passed the final exam leading to the award of Post-Graduate Diploma from Indian Universities which are duly recognized as per provisions of Indian Medical Council Act 1956, Govt of India i.e. have passed/Passing the final exams for Post graduate diploma on or before 30th November 2019 can apply for Post Diploma CET Exam The same Broad specialty
  2. Candidate should have completed his/her 2 years of post-diploma training by 30th November 2019
  3. Submission of proof of having passed/Passing the Post graduate diploma final exam on or before the 30th November 2019 is an essential prerequisite
  4. In case the candidate does not submit requisite proof of passing his/her post graduate diploma final examination, the candidate shall not be allowed to appear in December 2019 admission session
  5. Candidate found to be ineligible at any stage of DNB-PDCET will not be permitted to appear in the exam. In the unlikely event of any ineligible candidate appearing and/or being successful in the DNB-PDCET, the results/candidature of such candidate shall be cancelled

 

NATBOARD DNB PDCET 2020 Application Process

  1. Please refer to the Information Bulletined at the website www.nbe.edu.in (from 11th October 2019 onwards) for eligibility criteria, fee structure, scheme of examination and other details
  2. Application forms CANNOT be submitted in offline /printed copy by post.
  3. Completing Post Diploma Qualification means candidate should have completed the requisite two years training and his /her result of the final examination of the requisite Post Diploma qualification should have been declared by the cutoff date i.e. 30th November 2019
  4. Candidates who are not completing the training by the cutoff date or their final result has not been declared by the cutoff date or they have not qualified in the requisite exam need not apply
  5. Candidates should go through the bulletin carefully for eligibility criteria, scheme, pattern of examination etc before contacting NBE for any queries
  6. Queries pertaining to eligibility and other issues will only be entertained if the information requested is not given in bulletin or on website: www.natboard.edu.in
