NATBOARD Fellowship Entrance Test (FET) - 2017

The National Board of Examinations invites applications for Fellowship Entrance Test 2017 (FET) for admission to the Two Years Post Doctoral Fellowship Programme
NBE FET is the eligibility-cum-ranking examination for entry to various fellowship programmes under National Board of Examinations (NBE)
NBE shall be conducting NBE FET (2017 Admission Session) on 11th February 2017 for admission to Fellowship Programmes in the following sub-specialties:
01) Critical Care Medicine, 02) Reproductive Medicine, 03) Cardiac Anaesthesia, 04) Minimal Access Surgery, 05) Vitreo-Retinal Surgery, 6) Interventional Cardiology, 07) Pediatric Cardiology, 08) Spine Surgery, 09) Hand & Micro Surgery, 10) Trauma Care, 11) Pediatric Hemato Oncology, 12) Pediatric Intensive Care, 13) Laboratory Medicine, 14) Infectious Diseases, 15) High Risk Pregnancy & Perinatology, 16) Sports Medicine and, 17) Pediatric Gastroenterology

Duration of the FNB - 2 years; Full Time Residency Programme

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are in possession of Postgraduate Medical Degree/Provisional Pass Certificate by 30th December 2016 in the eligible specialties, provided that duration of training of Postgraduate/Post Doctoral Course is 36 months at the time of issuance of certificate and their Medical qualifications are recognised as per the provisions of IMC Act (1956) may apply for FET-2017 admission session
Candidates who are in possession of DNB degree certificate/Provisional Pass Certificate by 31st December 2016 in the eligible specialties may apply for FET-2017 admission session
Candidates found to be ineligible at any stage of FET will not be permitted to appear in the exam; in an unlikely event of any ineligible candidate appearing and/or being successful in the FET, the results
Candidates already pursuing a DM/MCh or DNB/FNB course are not eligible to appear for the FET till such time they have completed the duration of prescribed course or have been discharged from the course

Pattern of Exam

Duration: 2 hours
Total questions: 100
Maximum Marks: 100
Negative Marking: No
There will be 130 questions in Obstetrics & Gynaecology group (High Risk Pregnancy & Perinatology and Reproductive Medicine)
The questions will be of multiple choice and objective in nature with single correct response. The answers have to be given in the specially designed answer sheet (OMR type), which will be provided in the exam hall. Candidates are not allowed to take copy of question booklet/ OMR Sheet under any circumstances
Their FET question paper shall have 100 questions from Obstetrics and Gynaecology and 30 questions from Medical Genetics

Test Centres

There will be four test centres namely Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai. The exact venue shall be informed to the eligible candidates through admit card

How to Apply

The applications can be downloaded from the NBE website www.natboard.edu.in
Applications must reach the NBE office by the close of office on cut-off date mentioned above; no concessions shall be given on any ground including postal delays or delivery delays. Candidates are advised to read the instructions carefully and fill correct information

Payment of Fees

The fees to apply FET-2017 is Rs.4500/-, which is inclusive of examination fees and information bulletin. Information Bulletin shall be available at website www.natboard.edu.in

Deposition of Fees

By Cash Deposit - At any branch of Indian Bank (www.indianbank.in) or Axis Bank (website www.axisbank.com)
The fee as above can be deposited any branch of the Indian Bank or Axis Bank; Pay-in-slip can be downloaded from NBE Website www.natboard.edu.in. NBE copy of pay-in-slip is required to be submitted in original along with application form
Fees neither shall be refunded nor carried forward if the application for FET-2017 is rejected/candidature is found to be ineligible

Examination Date for NBE FET 2017: 11th February 2017
Declaration of Results by 10th March 2017
