HPU Shimla announces BAMS BHMS Entrance Exam 2018 for admission

HPU Shimla BAMS BHMS Entrance Test 2018 - Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) Shimla provides admission in the BAMS and BHMS on the basis of NEET-UG-2018. The application form for BAMS and BHMS has been released for those who qualified NEET-UG-2018.

Important Dates

  • Online Registration for HPU BAMS/BHMS start on 16th July 2018
  • Last Date for Online Registration of Application Form: 06th August 2018
  • Time for correction of error, if any, committed by the candidates while filling online application form: 07th August 2018
  • Date of displaying the category-wise provisional merit list on the University: 27th August 2018

HPU BAMS/BHMS Entrance Exam 2018

  • The HPU will be conducting the counseling on behalf of the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh, Dept. of Indian System of Medicine of Ayurveda & Homeopathy through Counseling Committee constituted by the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh for admission to BAMS/BHMS Courses (State/All India Quota) in Rajiv Gandhi Govt. Post Graduate Ayurvedic College, Paprola, Distt. Kangra (HP), Shiva Ayurvedic College & Hospital, Bilaspur and Solan Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Kumarhatti-173229, Distt. Solan an affiliated Colleges of the University on the basis of merit of qualified candidates of NEET-UG-2018 conducted by the CBSE, Delhi
  • The rules and regulations as contained in the prospectus have been framed by the Govt. of H.P. keeping in view the guidelines of the CCIM and Homeopathy Council of India for admission to BAMS/BHMS courses for the academic session 2018-19

  • Duration for HPU Shimla BAMS BHMS Course - 5½ years including one-year compulsory rotatory internship

  • 60 seats in Rajiv Gandhi Govt. Post-Graduate Ayurvedic College Paprola Distt. Kangra (Subject to permission of Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India for the Session 2018-19)

Group wise Distribution of Seats

  • Group-I: 51 Seats i.e. 85% of the total seats are reserved for Bonafide Himachalis
  • Group-II: 02 Seats for Govt. of India Nominee
  • Group-III: 07 seats i.e. one seat for Malaysian Nationals and one seat for ICCR Sponsored
  • Himachali who have applied for Group-I seats will also be considered on the basis of over all merit of the Entrance Test

BHMS

  • 60 Seats in Shiva Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital, Village Luhanoo Kanetain, P.O. Chandpur, Bilaspur(HP) (Subject to permission of Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India)
  • State Quota Seats (Group-A) = 30
  • All India Quota Seats (Group-B) = 30

BHMS

  • 75 Seats in Solan Homeopathy Medical College & Hospital, Solan(Subject to permission of Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India)
  • State Quota Seats (Group-A) = 47
  • All India Quota Seats (Group-B) = 28

 

Eligibility & Qualifications

BAMS Course

  • Educational Qualifications and Other Conditions: Candidates should have passed in any one of the following qualifying Exams at the time of first round of counselling:
  • 10+2 new Course Exam of a University/Board established by law in India or an equivalent Exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects which shall include a practical test in Science subjects with 50% marks in aggregate (40% marks for SC/ST/Other Backward Classes) and has also qualified the subject of English
  • OR
  • The B.Sc. Degree with 50% marks (40% marks for Scheduled Castes/Tribes/Other Backward Classes) of a University established by law in India with any three subjects out of Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physiology, Physics, Human Anatomy &Bio-Chemistry; provided that such a candidate must have passed the Pre-Medical or an equivalent Exam with English as compulsory subject of Board/University established by law in India.
  • OR
  • Any Exam of a University/Board/College or School in a foreign country, recognized as equivalent for the purpose by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi.
  • The above qualifications will only determine the eligibility of a candidate for admission but the admission shall be made in order merit drawn by the University based on the performance in the NEET –UG-2018.
  • The minimum qualifying marks for admission to BAMS/BHMS Course shall be as per cut-off marks obtained in NEET-UG-2018 as prescribed in the respective Categories, provided that the candidate has qualified the NEET

Age Criteria

  • He/she has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the first year MBBS/BDS course
  • Upper Age Limit is 25 years as on the date of Exam with relaxation of 5 years for candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST category & persons entitled for reservation under the Right of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016
  • For Candidates of Unreserved & Unreserved & another category (UR) - born on or between 07th May 1993 and 01st June 2002
  • For Candidates of SC/ST/OBC category - born on or between 07th May 1988 and 01st January 2002

BHMS Course

  • Candidate should have passed 10+2 from H.P. Board of School Education or from a recognized Board or equivalent degree/exam passed with Science [Medical group with Physics, Chemistry & Biology] of the University/H. P. Board of School Education in Science subjects
  • Upper age limit is 25 years as on the date of exam with relaxation of 5 years for candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST category & persons entitled for reservation under the Right of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016

 

Selection Criteria for BAMS/BHMS Courses

BAMS Groups-wise (Rajiv Gandhi Post-Graduate Ayurvedic College, Paprola):
Group-I

  • The candidates should be a bonafide resident of Himachal Pradesh and should possess minimum educational criteria as prescribed in the prospectus

Group-II

  • The Govt. of India nominee shall have to fulfill the eligibility conditions i.e. he/she must qualify the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test(NEET-UG-2018) conducted by CBSE and also fulfill the educational qualification and age condition as laid down in the prospectus for the purpose
  • These seats have been allocated to the State of Manipur by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Health, F.W. (Dept. of Ayush)

Group-III

  • These seats are to be filled up on All India Basis, there is no condition of Bonafide Himachali and all candidates who possess the minimum educational qualification and other criteria as prescribed in the prospectus are eligible to be covered under this group
  • The bonafideHimachali candidates will also be considered for Group- III Seats on the basis of General combined merit of drawn by the University. The eligibility criteria for the foreign sponsored candidates shall be as prescribed and approved by the CCIM/ Govt. of India
  • However, they are not required to appear in the NEET-UG-2018.

BAMS Groups-wise: (Shiva Ayurvedic College & Hospital, Bilaspur)
Group-A (State Quota Seats)

  • The candidates should be a bonafide resident of Himachal Pradesh and should possess minimum educational criteria as prescribed in the prospectus

Group-B (All India Quota Seats)

  • The seats are open to all without any domicile conditions. However, Himachal bonafide/domicile candidates can also compete under this quota

BHMS Groups-wise: (Solan Homeopathic College & Hospital, Solan)
Group-A (State Quota Seats)

  • The candidates should be a bonafide resident of Himachal Pradesh and should possess minimum educational criteria as prescribed in the prospectus.

Group-B(All India Quota Seats)

  • The seats are open to all without any domicile conditions. However, Himachal bonafide/domicile candidates can also compete under this quota.

 

Application Procedure

  • The Complete Text of the counseling prospectus is available on the University Websitewww.hpuniv.nic.in & www.admissions.hpushimla.in
  • Candidates may download the complete copy of the text of the prospectus and may read it carefully. Thereafter, apply online within the prescribed date with successful transaction of fee and may obtain the print out of confirmation copy of ONLINE application form as per instructions mentioned in the prospectus
  • The print out of confirmation copy of online application form is required to be submitted along with requisite certificates/documents by the candidates in person on the day of counseling

Mode of Payment of Entrance Test Fee

  • Fee for Rs.1600/- in case of General and Other Categories and Rs.800/- (Rupees eight hundred only) in case of SC/ST Categories is required to be paid by the candidates at any Branch of State Bank of India by computer generated Challans/Net Banking or through Credit/Debit Cards of any Bank.
  • The Computer-generated confirmation copy of Application Form with a separate photograph pasted on it duly attested by the Gazetted Officer and having signatures of the candidate and parents along with fee receipt must reach in the office of the Deputy Registrar (Ent. Tests), Room No.10, (Ground Floor) Administrative Block, Summer Hill, Shimla-5
  • All disputes are subject to legal jurisdiction of courts in Shimla only
  • Candidates who are qualified in NEET-UG-2018 and fulfill the prescribed eligibility criteria and other conditions of the prospectus may apply online only by using University website www.admissions.hpushimla.in for admission to BAMS/BHMS courses in different Ayurvedic/Homeopahty Colleges situated in the State of Himachal Pradesh
