Eligibility Criteria for IISER Tirupati PhD Admission 2021

Biology

Students with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage with all subjects) or CGPA 6.5 on 10-point scale in Bachelor's in Biological Sciences (All areas) /Ecological Sciences/ Mathematics/ Chemistry /Physics / Medical Sciences / Engineering or any equivalent degree.

GEEBILS 2019 (or) DBT-JRF-A / ICMR-JRF / DBT-BINC / ARS-NET (ICAR)/ UGC-CSIR JRF/ DST-INSPIRE (or) For CSIR-LS rank-holders, up to rank 200 are eligible

Chemistry

Students with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage with all subjects) or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in B. Sc. (General / B.Sc. majoring in Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics & Biology), Engineering (BE/BTech) or any equivalent degree.

JAM (Chemistry) 2020

Mathematics

Students with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage with all subjects) or a CGPA 6.5 on a10-point scale in B.Sc. or any equivalent degree.

JAM 2021 (MA - Mathematics or MS-Mathematical Statistics) or Valid NBHM MA/MSc Scholarship

Physics

Students with Minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage with all subjects) or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale in B.Sc./B.Tech/B.E. or any equivalent degree.

JAM (Physics) 2021 or JEST (Physics) 2021

Age Limit

  • Preferably not more than 28 yrs at the time of joining.  Age relaxation of 3yrs will be given for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and 5 years for SSC/ST/PD/Female candidates as per GOI norms.
  • Candidates belonging to reserved category will have to submit relevant certificates, if selected. Relaxation may also be given whenever suitable candidates are not available, in exceptional circumstances.

IISER Tirupati PhD Admission 2021 Application Process

  • Only online applications will be accepted. Applicants can submit their forms for the respective departments using the links:
  • Applicants should complete the online application form by going to the following  http://www.iisertirupati.ac.in/admissions/iphd/
  • The candidates must carefully fill and submit the online application form. For Biology, the deadline for online application is September 16, 2020. For all other disciplines the application deadline is October 20, 2020.
  • Only short-listed candidates will be intimated further about the date of interview. Candidates belonging to reserved category will have to submit relevant certificates, if selected.

Selection Procedure

  • The shortlisted candidates will be called for an on-line interview and final selection is based on interview performance.
  • Applying does not automatically guarantee that a candidate will be shortlisted for an interview. The respective departments may use additional criteria (based on academic performance and/or performance in the national level tests) to shortlist candidates for interviews.
  • In addition, the chemistry department may have different internal shortlisting criteria for different branches of chemistry.

Fellowship

  • Upon selection and subsequently joining the Ph.D program, candidates who do not possess any CSIR, DBT and INSPIRE, will be eligible for institute fellowship at par with CSIR, DBT etc. as per the Institute norms.
