NBRC Gurgaon Admission – National Brain Research Centre (NBRC) invites applications for admission to PhD and M.Sc. (Neuroscience) Programs for the academic year 2022.

NBRC Gurgaon  Admission Dates 2021

  • NBRC Application (Online) start date: 05th November, 2021
  • Last date of receipt of application (Online / Offline) at NBRC: 31st March 2022
  • Last date of receipt of requests for hard copy of application form: 01st March 2022
  • Interview for the M.Sc. program: May 2022
  • Interview for PhD program: May 2022
  • Shortlisted candidates will be notified by e-mail by April 2022.

 

NBRC Gurgaon Admission Eligibility Criteria 2021

For PhD (Neuroscience)

  • A candidate seeking admission to the course of study leading to the award of Doctor of Philosophy should meet the following criteria :
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in any branch of Science such as Life Sciences / Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer applications / Pharmacy / Veterinary Science / M.Sc. Degree in Psychology from a recognized Institute / University.
  • You are also eligible if you have completed a minimum of a four-year course leading to a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering / Technology / Medicine from a recognized Institute / University.
  • Candidates appearing for the final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.
  • At least 55% (50% for SC / ST / PH candidates) marks or an equivalent grade or grade point average from secondary (10th) examination onwards is required.
  • Candidates should calculate their percentage up to two decimal points to determine their eligibility.

For M.Sc. (Neuroscience)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any branch of Science such as Life Sciences / Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer applications / Pharmacy / Veterinary Science / B.Sc. Degree in Psychology / Engineering / Technology / Medicine from a recognized Institute / University.
  • Candidates appearing for the final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.
  • At least 55% (50% for SC / ST / PH candidates) marks or an equivalent grade or grade point average from secondary (10th) examination onwards is required.

National Entrance Examinations for PhD at NBRC

Ph.D (Neuroscience)

  • Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS December 2021) (To be held on 12th December, 2021).
  • Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2021/GATE-2022) in Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Electrical Engineering / Electronics and Communications Engineering / Computer Science and Information Technology / Instrumentation Engineering. Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) (2022) (for Physics). CSIR / UGC / DBT / ICMR examination for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Biology / Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics. Validity of the fellowship should be such that it can be activated on 31st August, 2022 or later. UGC-NET JRF qualified on / after Dec 2020.
  • Based on their performance in any of the above qualifying examinations, candidates will be short-listed for interviews to be held at NBRC.

M.Sc. (Neuroscience)

  • Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS December 2021) (To be held on 12th December, 2021).
  • M.Sc. programme candidates will be screened through JGEEBILS only.
  • Candidates will be short-listed for a two-tier interview based on their performance in the JGEEBILS examination.

 

NBRC Gurgaon PhD and MSc Admission Application Process 2021

  • Eligible candidates can apply online through University website http://www.nbrc.ac.in/
  • Candidates who wish to apply by offline mode need to obtain an application form from NBRC. In order to obtain the application form, please send a self-addressed A-4 size envelope to the Registrar, National Brain Research Centre, Manesar-122052 Dist. Gurgaon (Haryana).
  • If you are eligible for both M.Sc. (Neuroscience) and Ph.D. programmes, you can choose to apply for both the programmes by filling in separate online application forms (by using different email-ids) or sending application by post / courier. You will have to pay the fee separately for each programme.

  • Step 2: Apply for JGEEBILS (December 2021) (To be held on 12th December, 2021) .
  • Step 3: Apply to NBRC Ph.D. or M.Sc. programme here before 31st March 2022. You must apply to NBRC using this link. Merely applying for JGEEBILS does not automatically send your application to NBRC.
  • Step 4: Pay the required amount of fee.

Fee for Offline applicants:

  • For General Candidates: Rs. 350/-
  • For SC/ST/PH Candidates: Rs. 200/-
