SET 2007 Details

 

Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET), is the common written test required for admission to the Symbiosis Undergraduate Institutes of SIEC Deemed University.

It is a mandatory written test for the admission process for the undergraduate programmes of these Symbiosis institutes. However, it is only the first step. Each Symbiosis institute has its independent selection process.

 

  • SSLC Symbiosis Society's Law College - B.A.LLB / B.B.A.LLB 5 yrs
    Eligibility -
    12th (10+2) in any stream or its equivalent with minimum 50 %. Students who have appeared for their H.S.C finals and awaiting for results are also eligible to apply subjected to their passing it in the same attempt and should not be placed in compartment.
  • SICSR Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies & Research B.C.A. /BBA (IT) 3 yrs
    Eligibility - BCA: XII standard examination pass from Science stream or government diploma in Engineering / Technology with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC / ST category candidates)
    BBA (IT): XII standard examination pass from any stream or equivalent diploma in Engineering / Technology with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC / ST category candidates)

  • SCMS-UG Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies B.B.A. 3 yrs
    Eligibility - XII pass from any branch with a minimum of 50% marks. Students who have passed in compartments are not eligible for admission.
  • SID Symbiosis Institute of Design B.Des. 4 yrs
    Eligibility - Candidates must have passed their 10+2 (any stream) or equivalent with minimum of 50% marks obtained in the final examination.
  • SIHS Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS) B.Sc. (MT) 3 yrs
    Eligibility -
    Std. XII Pass with any two of the following subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry & Microbiology or equivalent as decided by competent authority .

Step 2 : Purchase SIHS prospectus & application form:

  • Online: A student may purchase the prospectus & application form online along with the payment for SET fees through credit card. On receipt of this payment the institute will send prospectus & application form directly to the student.

  • At institute's office / By Demand Draft, etc.: Cost of SIHS prospectus & application form is Rs. 800/-
    Pl. Note: SET Registration fee is separate & additional.

Symbiosis Entrance Test Cities:

Symbiosis Entrance Test is conducted in 13 cities. A candidate may choose one city. The center and its address will be informed on the Admit Card.

*Symbiosis reserves the right to change or allot a city other than the one requested in the event of the requested city not being available for any reason. No change of Test city will be permitted.

Structure of General Aptitude Test

SET is an aptitude test and is objective in nature. Each question has four options as answers and carries one mark for correct answer. There is no negative marking for wrong answers.

English: This section aims to check reading and writing abilities in English. It deals with comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, syntax, correct use of language etc.

Quantitative: This section has questions to check basic abilities in mathematics and has largely a mix of questions in basic arithmetic (e.g. time-work, profit-loss, ratio, percentage etc.), basic algebra, basic geometry etc. This will be at the level of class 10.

Analytical & Logical Reasoning : This section checks logical and analytical abilities.

The questions are comparable to any national-level competitive tests for degree programmes.
