Ph.D, Masters, Bachelors Programme Admission-2012

Ph.D Programmes (Full Time/Part Time): The admission forms of Ph.D Programmes are available throughout the year on the website of the School but the candidate shall be admitted twice in a year in August and January to coincide with commencement of Autumn and Winter semester respectively

The application form must be submitted along with demand draft of Rs 1,100/- drawn in favour of School of Planning and Architecture, payable at New Delhi

Masters Programmes (Full Time) 2 years

Architectural Conservation, Master of Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Building Engineering and Management, Master of Design (Industrial Design)

Planning (with specialization): Environmental Planning, Housing, Regional Planning, Transport Planning, Urban Planning

Eligibility

Architectural Conservation and Urban Design: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Planning from a recognized university or equivalent

Environment Planning: Bachelor’s degree in Planning or Architecture or Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering or Environmental Engineering or Master’s Degree in Geography or Economics or Sociology or Environmental Science or Environmental Management of a recognized university or equivalent

Regional Planning and Urban Planning: Bachelor’s degree in Planning or Architecture of Civil Engineering or Architecture Engineering or M.A. Geography or Economics or Sociology from a recognized university or equivalent

Housing: Bachelor’s degree in Planning or Architecture or Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering or Municipal Engineering or Building Engineering or M.A. in Sociology or Economics from a recognized university or equivalent

Transport Planning: Bachelor’s degree in Planning or Architecture or Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering from a recognized university or equivalent or Master’s degree in Statistics/Operational Research/Economics from a recognized university or equivalent

Landscape Architecture: Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Architecture or Planning or Master’s Degree in Planning or equivalent post graduate diploma of a recognized university/institution or certificate of completion of Pre-Landscape Architecture Course of the SPA, New Delhi

Building Engineering and Management: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Building Engineering or Architecture or Architectural Engineering or Building Science or Five year Diploma in Construction Technology or equivalent from a recognized university/institution established by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature

Master of Design (Industrial Design): Bachelor’s degree in Architecture of a recognized university or equivalent or Bachelor’s Design in Engineering/Design/Fine Arts of a recognized university or equivalent with valid CEED score (essential for non-architectural candidates) from approved stream

Marks: Candidates with at least 55% marks in aggregate at the qualifying examination, 50% aggregate marks in respect of SC/ST/OBC candidates

Application Form: Eligible candidates may apply in prescribed application form available on the School website www.spa.ac.in

An applicant can apply for maximum of two courses of studies in separate application forms with all enclosures separately

The applicant has to mention which other course he/she is applying for

Once the fee is paid the applicant will not be allowed to change the stream in any circumstances

Each application form must be submitted along with demand draft of Rs 1,100/- drawn in favour of School of Planning and Architecture, payable at New Delhi

Photo copies of the certificates, marksheets, etc are to be attached with the application forms

Filled applications may be submitted by post or in person to the Assistant Registrar (AE) of the School

PG Scholarships: The distribution of the limited number of scholarships Rs 8,000/- p.m. to GATE/CEED (applicable only for ID course)/UGC (NET)/JRF qualified candidates

Bachelors Programme: Architecture/Planning

Admission to Bachelor’s programme in Architecture and Bachelor’s Programme in Planning will be made through All India Engineering/Architecture entrance examination (AIEEE-2012) conducted by CBSE, through central counseling board (CCB-2012) as per the prescribed qualifications notified by CBSE in the newspapers and as per directions of the Govt of India

Foreign National/NRI/PIO: Foreign National 10%, Non Resident Indian 3%, Person of Indian Origin 2% may apply on plain paper along with documents and registration fee of US dollar 300 (non-refundable)

The candidates who have qualified from the foreign boards/universities and recognized as equivalent by the AIU shall be considered

In case of NRIs, who has studied abroad for five years in the last eight years of stay and has passed the required qualifying examination from the country are eligible to apply

Foreign nationals who are awarded Govt of India scholarship under various schemes/self financing foreign students sponsored by Ministry of External Affairs, Govt of India shall be given preference
