Ph.D (Neuroscience), Integrated Ph.D (Neuroscience) Programmes 2012-13

Ph.D (Neuroscience)

Eligibility: Master’s degree or equivalent in any branch of Science such as Life Science/Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Application/ Pharmacy/ Veterinary Science/ Psychology; or a minimum of four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering/Technology /Medicine

Integrated Ph.D (Neuroscience)

Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any branch of Science such as Life Science/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications/ Pharmacy/ Veterinary Science/ Psychology/ Engineering/ Technology/ Medicine

Candidates appearing for final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply

On successful completion of the Integrated Ph.D programme the students will be awarded both M.Sc and Ph.D degree

Only the candidates with a track record of at least 55% (for SC/ST/PH candidates 50%) marks (no rounding off; candidates should mention their percentage calculated up to two decimal points) or equivalent grade from secondary (10th) examination onwards will be considered to be called for the written test

Admission Calendar (Tentative)

Application form available on-line 19th March, 2012 to 09th April, 2012

Last date of receipt of the filled forms along with registration slip and copies of self attested testimonials: 13th April, 2012, Friday

Application received after 13th April, 2012 will be summarily rejected

Availability of admit card from the NBRC website www.nbrc.ac.in, http://specialtest.in/nbrc2012 on or after 23rd April, 2012, 1400 hours

No separate admit card will be issued

Written entrance examination for Integrated Ph.D (Neuroscience): 13th May, 2012, Sunday, 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 Noon

Written entrance examination for Ph.D (Neuroscience): 13th May, 2012, Sunday, 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.

List of candidates shortlisted to be called for the interview will be notified on our website

Dates of interview will be notified on our website

The written test for Integrated Ph.D programme will be conducted during forenoon from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 Noon and for Ph.D programme it will be conducted during afternoon from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. on 13th May, 2012, at Bengaluru, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai

Any test centre may be cancelled or altered at the discretion of NBRC

The applicants who have opted cancelled centre will be allotted alternate test centre and intimated in the admit card

Detailed information in this regard will be placed on NBRC website and such applicants will be informed accordingly by e-mail for downloading the admit cards from 23rd April, 2012 onwards for the written test

No separate admit card will be issued

Students are required to visit website www.nbrc.ac.in, http://specialtest.in/nbrc2012  on or after 23rd April, 2012, 1400 hours

Selection Procedure: Shortlisted candidates after the written test will be called for a two-tier interview at NBRC

The final selection will be based on the performance in the interview

The dates for the interview will be intimated later, and will also be posted on NBRC website

The decision of the screening/ selection committee will be final and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained

Canvassing in any form will disqualify the applicant

The candidates finally selected for the Ph.D or Integrated Ph.D programmes will be eligible for scholarship as per NBRC rules and will be provided hostel accommodation on a sharing basis

Last date to apply on-line 09th April, 2012

Send the duly completed print version of on-line application form having auto generated application number to Registrar, National Brain Research Centre, Nainwal Mode, NH-8, Manesar-122050 so as to reach on or before 13th April, 2012

Registration process will be completed only on receipt of print version of on-line application form alongwith demand draft and self attested copies of the certificates/testimonials in respect of proof of age, qualification, category etc

Candidates who are eligible as per the eligibility criteria of NBRC for both Integrated Ph.D and Ph.D programmes, if interested, may apply, by filling separate online application forms and by paying requisite fee separately for each programme
