Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be a citizen of India. Must be domicile of West Bengal.
- The applicant must have passed or must be appearing in 2024 in class 12 examination in (10+2) system only.
- The applicant’s age must be at least 17 (seventeen) years as on 31.07.2024 i.e., the applicant should have been born on or before 31.07.2007.
General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) For Male & Female
Auxiliary Nursing & Midwifery (Revised) for only Female

- Maximum age : No upper age limit
- Residence : Must be a permanent resident of West Bengal uninterruptedly for at least last ten years till 31.12.2023
- Language : Must be able to read, write and express in Bengali and/or Nepali
- Minimum educational qualification
- a) Must pass ‘10+2’ examination from any recognized Board (2) with at least 40% marks in aggregate.
- b) Must pass (3) in English in (10+2) examination.
- c) Vocational Stream
- i. CBSE Board: Candidates passing (10+2) in Vocational Stream must be from the Health Care Science discipline.
- ii. The candidates passing West Bengal Higher Secondary (Vocational) Examination, 2023 onwards, who opted for “Healthcare Science” under “Community Healthcare” Group must pass in any two of the following combination of Subjects: –
- Community Health Counselor (COHC)
- Patient Care Assistant (PTCA)
- Public Health & First Aid (PHFA)
- iii. The candidates who passed West Bengal Higher Secondary (Vocational) Examination prior to 2023 with “Community Healthcare” Group under “Home Science” Discipline with combination of 3 vocational papers namely:
- Community Nutrition
- Hospital Management
- Public Health & First Aid
- shall also be eligible for making application for the ANM/GNM Entrance Examination, 2024 as per the notification no. WBSCTVESD/VED/748 Dated, 29.01.2024 of West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development.
- Medical Fitness Certificate : All candidates must be medically fit for the course and must produce a Medical Fitness Certificate in the format given in APPENDIX-3 at the time of admission.
Note:
- (1) There are 02(two) government Male Institutions and few private Male Institutions.
- (2) Recognized Board: Refer to the list of recognized Board/Council given in Board’s website www.wbjeeb.nic.in
- (3) ‘Passed’ means passed in both theory and practical/ project as applicable.

- Candidates can access and submit the application form online on the official website www.wbjeeb.nic.in
- There is no other mode to submit the application form.

- Step 5 – Pay the application fee in online mode only
- Step 6 – Keep copies of the confirmation page, admit card in safe custody.
Examination Fee
- For SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/EWS/Orphan candidates : Rs.300 (Rupees three hundred only)
- For all other candidates : Rs.400 (Rupees four hundred only)
- Mode of Payment : Online through Net banking/ Debit card/Credit Card/UPI only + bank’s service charges.
Selection Procedure
- Selection of the applicants is made strictly based on marks obtained in the common entrance exam. After that, the counseling process will conduct for seat allotment in different ANM / GNM institutes of West Bengal.
- The seat allotment is done as per schedule given above on this page. If a candidate is provisionally selected for both ANM and GNM training courses, she can only take admission in one based on her preference.
Exam Pattern
- All questions will be of Multiple- Choice Question (MCQ) type, with four answer options.
- Time for the paper is 1 1⁄2 hours.
- The questions will be in both English and Bengali language (except Basic English and Logical Reasoning).

Syllabus
- Life Science, Physical Science, Mathematics will be based on 10th standard syllabi of the recognised Board/Councils in India and Basic English, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning will be equivalent to 12th standard curriculum.
