University of Rajasthan  announces MPhil and PhD Admission Test (UNIRAJ MPAT) 2019

UNIRAJ MPAT 2019 – University of Rajasthan, Jaipur invites online applications for admission to various M.Phil. / PhD Programs for the session 2019-20

UNIRAJ MPAT 2019

  • The admission to the M.Phil./ PhD Programs shall be made on the basis of merit of the applicant in an entrance test hereinafter referred to as University of Rajasthan M.Phil./PhD Admission Test (Uniraj-MPAT) conducted by the University and reservation policy of Govt. of Rajasthan shall be applicable
  • Uniraj-MPAT conducted by the University of Rajasthan will be based on the syllabi for the entrance test notified by the University of Rajasthan

 

UNIRAJ MPAT 2019 Important Dates

  • Online submission of Application Form: 03rd August 2019
  • Last Date for On-line Submission of Application Form: 07th August 2019
  • Date of Entrance Examinations: Will be announced shortly

 

Duration of the Program

  • M.Phil. Program shall be for a maximum of four (4) consecutive semesters / two years
  • The women candidates and Persons with Disability (more than 40% disability) may be allowed a relaxation of one year for M.PhiI. in the maximum duration. In addition, the women candidates may be provided Maternity Leave/Child Care Leave once in the entire duration of M.Phil. for up to 240 days
  • PhD Program shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including coursework and a maximum of six years
  • The women candidates and Persons with Disability (more than 40% disability) may be allowed a relaxation of two years for Ph.D. in the maximum duration. In addition, the women candidates may be provided Maternity Leave/Child Care Leave once in the entire duration of Ph.D. for up to 240 days

 

Eligibility Criteria for UNIRAJ MPAT 2019

  • For MPhil Program: Candidates must have obtained a Master’s Degree from the University or any other University/institution recognized as equivalent thereto in the subject or any allied subject in which he/she wishes to pursue the course provided that the candidate has secured at least 55% marks and Master’s degree should have been obtained after taking Bachelor’s degree full course prescribed for the degree.
  • A relaxation of 5% in the minimum eligibility shall be applicable to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/Physically Handicapped and Visually Impaired Categories
  • For PhD Program: Candidates must have obtained at least 55% marks at Post-Graduate exam of the University or of any other University/Institution recognized as equivalent thereto in any subject provided that the master’s degree should have been obtained after taking Bachelor’s degree full course prescribed for the degree.
  • A relaxation of 5% in the minimum eligibility shall be applicable to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/Physically Handicapped and Visually Impaired Categories

 

Scheme of Exam of Uniraj-MPAT

  • There will be two papers for each MPhil/PhD Program and exam for both the papers shall be conducted in a single session of 3 hours duration. Duration of the Paper-I will be one hour, and duration of the Paper-II will be two hours.
  • Paper-I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. The candidate will have to obtain minimum 50% marks in Paper-I failing which Paper- Il will not be evaluated
  • Paper-II (Based on Subject) shall be intended to assess the domain knowledge of the candidate. The syllabus of Paper-II will be recommended by concerned Board of Studies or Committee of Courses

 

Selection Procedure

  • For admission to MPhil/PhD Programs in different subjects, admission process to these programs will be completed in two phases:
  • Phase I: the Phase I is meant for those candidates who shall be exempted from UNIRAJ-MPAT 2019and it will include the candidates from the following categories:
  • Those who were admitted in M.Phil through UNIRAJ-MPAT and have passed their M.Phil Exam
  • The candidates having qualified UGC/CSIR NET Exam OR SLET/INSPIR Exam and Teacher fellowship holders
  • Teacher candidate appointed on a substantive basis by duly constituted selection committee as per the UGC qualification with 2 years of continuous service (including probation period) in any University Teaching Dept. or affiliated colleges of any University on regular pay scale
  • Phase II: If seats for MPhil/PhD in a particular program remain vacant after completing the process of Phase I, applications shall be invited for the admission test (UNIRAJ-MPAT 2019)
  • The UGC/CSIR NET/SLET/INSPIRE qualified candidates who failed to get admission in Phase I against 40% reserved seats, will be free to apply in UNIRAJ – MPAT Phase II for getting admission against remaining seats.

 

UNIRAJ MPAT 2019 Application Procedure

  • Candidates can apply online at University Website https://uniraj.edu.in/mpat
  • Admissions to these programs will be made through an Entrance test (UNIRAJ MPAT 2019)
  • Hard copy of the Application Form along with the required documents and the Demand Draft of Application fee must be sent to the following address Convener, UNIRAJ – MPAT 2019, National Service Scheme (NSS), DSW Building, University Campus, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur-302004 latest by 03rd August 2019
