Tamil Nadu Polytechnic Admission 2023 – Department of Technical Education, Govt of Tamilnadu has released a notification and invites applications for the Admissions to 1st Year Diploma Courses in Government Polytechnic Colleges in the State for the academic Year 2023-24

Diploma Course Offered

  • Application for Diploma in Digital Manufacturing Technologies (Government Polytechnic Colleges- Kadathur, Kelamangalam, Uthangarai, Jollarpet, Vanavasi) can be collected from the Concerned Colleges.

  • Last Date Submission of Application Form: To be announced later

 

Allocation of Seats

  • Seats in Regular Diploma Courses: 100 % seats under merit Quota
  • Seats in Sandwich Courses: 50% seats under merit quota and the remaining 50% seats under sponsored quota.

 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates satisfying the following eligibility rules as on 01-08-2023 are alone eligible to apply.

Nativity

  • Candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu only will be considered for admission. Check notification for Exemption of certain conditions.
  • A pass in the 10th Standard (SSLC) or any other equivalent qualification

Age Limit

  • There is no Age Limit

 

Application Procedure

  • This Application Form is intended for seeking Admission to the First Year Diploma Courses offered in Government Polytechnic Colleges under the purview of the Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai 600 025.
  • Application for Diploma in Digital Manufacturing Technologies (Government Polytechnic Colleges- Kadathur, Kelamangalam, Uthangarai, Jollarpet, Vanavasi) can be collected from the Concerned Colleges.

 

Mode of Selection

Regular Diploma Courses: 

  • Selection of eligible candidates for the courses in the Polytechnic Colleges and Special Institutions will be made based on the total marks secured in the qualifying examination and the ranking will be done in the order of total marks secured by the candidates in the SSLC / Equivalent examination following communal reservation. In respect of candidates whose maximum marks in the qualifying examination more than 500 as per scheme, the maximum marks shall be reduced to a base of 500 and rank arrived at along with other candidates.

Sandwich Courses:

  •  For 50% of seats in the Sandwich Diploma Courses the selection will be done based on the total marks secured in the qualifying examination as for the regular courses following merit and communal reservation.
  • For the remaining 50% seats in the Sandwich Diploma Courses the eligible candidates sponsored by the approved industries will be admitted. The list of industries which are participating in the Inplant Training etc., are alone eligible to sponsor candidates.
  • Sandwich courses will extend for a period of 3 & 1/2 years (7 semesters). Candidates admitted to sandwich courses will attend the Institution study as well as Inplant Training in one of the connected industries.
  • These candidates should satisfy the rules relating to eligibility rules prescribed.

 

Certificates Required to Produced at the time of Admission

  • Conduct certificate and Transfer Certificate are in original from the Head of the Educational Institution in which the candidate had last studied;
  • SSLC mark sheet or mark sheet issued by the concerned educational authority for the qualifying examination ;
  • SSLC mark sheet issued by the Headmaster of the School, will not be accepted. and
  • Original community certificate for ST / SC / SC(A) / MBC & DNC / BC (Others) / BC (Muslims) from the prescribed authority.
