Rani Channamma University PG Admission 2023 – Rani Channamma University invites applications from eligible candidates through online (UUCMS) mode for admission to the Post Graduate Courses offered by various faculties of  Rani Channamma University Main Campus, Post Graduate Center Vijayapur, Sangolli Rayanna First Grade Constituent College and Affiliated Colleges of Belagavi and Vijayapur District for the academic year 2023-24

  • Faculty of Arts: M. A – Classical Kannada, English, Marathi, History, Economics, Sociology, Social Work, Political Science, Journalism and Mass Communication, Anthropology (Without Lab)
  • Faculty of Science & Technology: M.Sc – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, Botany, Computer Science, Geography, Library and Information Science, Criminology and Forensic Science, Environmental Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Alcohol Technology
  • Faculty of Commerce: Commerce (M.Com)
  • Faculty of Education: Education (M. Ed), Physical Education (M.P.Ed)

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates who have passed three year Bachelor’s degree exam from Rani Channamma University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto, with the respective subject as optional / major / special / main subject / basic are eligible for admission to the programmes provided they have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate of all the subjects and 50% (45% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in the cognate subject.

Course Wise Eligibility

  • Kannada: Any Degree with Kannada as a Major / Optional / Basic Subject
  • English: B.A. with English as a Major / Optional Subject
  • Marathi: B.A. with Marathi as a Major / Optional / Basic Subject and any degree
  • Economics: B.A with Optional Economics
  • History & Archaeology: B.A with Optional History / History and Archaeology
  • Political Science: B.A with Optional Political Science
  • Library and Information Science: a) Candidates who have passed BSW / BA / B.Sc / B.Com / BCA / BBM / LLB / BE / BBA of Rani Channamma University, Belagavi or any other university recognized as equivalent thereto are eligible
  • Sociology: B.A with Optional / Major / Minor Sociology
  • Anthropology: Any Degree from recognised University
  • Social Work: a) Candidates who have passed BSW / BA / B.Sc / B.Com / BCA / BBM / LLB of Rani Channamma University, Belagavi or any other university recognized as equivalent thereto are eligible. Candidates will be selected for admission as per the general guidelines issued from the Rani Channamma University, Belagavi from time to time.
  • Chemistry: B.Sc. Degree or its equivalent with Chemistry as one of the optional subjects.
  • Geography: B.A. / B.Sc. Degree with Geography as a Major/optional subject/ B.Sc in Geology/any other B.Sc Degree
  • Computer Science: The students who have successfully completed a three year science degree course or any other three year/four year degree course. BCA, BE. B.Tech. (Computer Science and Engineering / information Science and Engineering) with minimum 45% of marks in aggregate at degree level are eligible to apply. However, relaxation of 5% of marks in respect of SC/ST/Cat-1 will be allowed as per prevailing rules of the University and Govt. Orders issued from time to time.
  • Mathematics: B.Sc. Degree with Mathematics as a Major / Optional Subject
  • Physics: B.Sc. Degree or its equivalent with Physics as one of the Optional Subject
  • M.Com: Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce of this University or of any other University recognized by UGC
  • M.P.Ed.: B.P.Ed. degree of this University or of any other University or B.P.Ed. 2 years with 50% (45% for SC/ST/C-1) of marks in the aggregate
  • Botany: B.Sc. Degree or its equivalent with Botany as one of the Optional Subject
  • Zoology: B.Sc. Degree or its equivalent with Zoology as one of the Optional Subject
  • M.Sc. Criminology & Forensic Science: a) B.Sc Degree with any subject b) Criminology in BA / B.Sc. (Optional) c) Those who have studied any one of the following subjects at Under-Graduation level: B.A/ B.Sc.in Criminology and Forensic Science Forensic Science/ Psychology/ Anthropology d) Degree in Law (3 years or Five Years) e) The students who have studied Science subjects in their 10+2/ PUC or equivalent and have pursued graduation in any degree recognized by the university are also eligible
  • M.Ed.: a) Candidates seeking admission to the M.Ed programme should have obtained at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade in the fallowing programmes: i) B.Ed ii) B.A., B.Ed./ B.Sc. B.Ed/B.A.Ed/B.Sc. Ed iii) B.El. Ed iv) D.El.Ed/D.Ed. with an under graduate degree (with 50% marks in each)
  • Journalism & Mass Communication: Any degree from Rani Channamma University or from any other University recognized as equivalent there to having at least 45% of marks in aggregate at degree level is eligible to apply. However, relaxation of 5% of marks in respect of SC/ST/Cat-1 will be allowed as per prevailing rules of the university and government orders from time to time.
  • M.Sc. Alcohol Technology: Bachelor’s degree in Science or equivalent degree. The candidate should have obtained at least 40% of marks in optional subjects as well as in aggregate. Relaxation in respect of SC/ST/Cat -I etc. will be followed as per prevailing rules of the university – a) B.Sc. (Sugar Science & Technology) b) B.Sc. (Chemistry / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Biotechnology); c) B.Sc. (Food Technology); d) B.Sc. (Agriculture/Horticulture/Forestry); e) B.Tech. (Biotechnology); f) B.E/B.Tech. (Chemical Engineering/Food Technology); g) B.Sc. Chemistry + Diploma in Fermentation and Alcohol Technology (DIFAT graduate) by (NSI/VSI); All guidelines of Rani Channamma University are to be followed for reservation as well as merit
  • M.Sc. Micro-Biology: Candidates who have passed the three year Bachelor’s degree regular /Hon’s examination of Rani Channamma University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto, with the respective subject (Bachelor degree in life science with subjects such as Chemistry / Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Botany / Zoology / Food Technology / Home Science / Food Science and Nutrition / Food Science and Quality Control/ Clinical Nutrition / Agriculture and B. Tech Degree in Biotechnology / Agricultural Engineering) OR (B.Sc. in Microbiology / Biotechnology / or B.Sc., Agricultural sciences cognate subject or MBBS Medical sciences cognate subject or B.Sc., Cognate subject in any biological science) as optional / major / special / main subject, are eligible for admission to the programme provided they have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate of all the subjects and 50% (45% for SC/ST/Category I candidates) marks in the cognate subject
  • M.Sc. Bio-Chemistry: Candidates who have passed the three year Bachelor’s degree regular /Hon’s examination of Rani Channamma University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto, with the respective subject.(Bachelor degree in subjects such as Chemistry / Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Botany/ Zoology / Physics / Environmental Science / Geology / Physiology / Food Technology / Home Science / Food Science and Nutrition / Food Science and Quality Control / Clinical Nutrition / Agriculture and B. Tech Degree in Biotechnology/ Marine science/ Agricultural Engineering) OR B.Sc. in Agricultural sciences cognate subject or MBBS Medical sciences cognate subject or B.Sc Cognate subject in any biological/chemical science) as optional / major / special / main subject, are eligible for admission to the programme, provided they have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate of all the subjects and 50% (45% for SC/ST/Category I candidates) marks in the cognate subject. All the candidates should have Chemistry as one of the General subject at the 10+2 level, Admission shall be as per Government of Karnataka reservation policy and the directions issued in this regard from time to time
  • M.Sc. Environmental Science: Candidates who have passed the three year Bachelor’s degree regular /Hon’s examination of Rani Channamma University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto, with the respective subject (Bachelor degree in subjects such as Chemistry / Physics / Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Botany / Zoology / Food Technology / Home Science / Food Science and Nutrition / Food Science and Quality Control/ Clinical Nutrition / Statistics, Geology, Life Sciences, Environment Sciences, Computer Science, Fisheries, Marine Science, Marine Biology, Horticulture, Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Health Sciences or any branch of Engineering (BE – Civil engineering, Architecture, Environment etc.)and B. Tech Degree in Biotechnology/ Agricultural Engineering) OR MBBS / Ayurvedic Medical sciences cognate subject or B.Sc., Cognate subject in any Biological science) as optional / major / special / main subject, are eligible for admission to the programme, provided they have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate of all the subjects and 50% (45% for SC/ST/Category I candidates) marks in the cognate subject.
  • MBA: A candidate who has passed a Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum of 3 years duration examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects including languages in all the years of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to MBA courses. (45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka Candidates)
  • MCA: Passed BCA/Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent Degree OR Passed B.Sc./B.Com/B.A. with Mathematics at 10+2 Level or at Graduation Level (with additional bridge Courses as per the norms of the University). Obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Exam. The admission shall be made as per the reservation policy and directions issued in this regard from time to time by the Government of Karnataka and also as per rules as prescribed by the University. All admissions done through Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), Bangalore

 

Application Procedure

  • Before Applying for any course, candidates must check the eligibility criteria, prescribed fees and information regarding the availability of the Courses at University main Campus/PG Center/Constituent College and Affiliated Colleges of Belagavi and Vijayapur district from University website www.rcub.ac.in.
  • Application Fee – Rs.1000/-
  • Candidates have to submit Hard copy of duly filled (UUCMS) application along with all (attested) necessary documents to the concerned Head of the Department at Main campus of Rani Channamma University, Belagavi, in person or through Post (Speed Post) on or before 22-11-2023
  • The applications (Hard copy) of History course to be submitted at P.G. Halakatti, PG Center Vijayapur

 

Selection Process

  • Admission to various courses, except for those subjects requiring Entrance test, (If required as per norms) is based on the marks obtained in the respective subjects/aggregate marks in the qualifying examination, whichever is applicable.
  • In respect to those subjects where Entrance test is conducted admission shall be made on the basis of a merit list prepared by taking into consideration 50% of marks obtained in the qualifying examination (excluding Basic/*Common subjects) and 50% of marks obtained in the Entrance test.
  • For Non-resident Indian and foreign students admissions will be provided as per the University rules.
