NLSIU MPhil and PhD Admission 2020 – Applications are invited by National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru in the prescribed format for admission to the following Research Degree Programmes for the academic year 2019-20 (Session January 2020)

Eligibility Criteria for NLSIU MPhil and PhD Admission 2020

Ph.D. Degree in Law Candidate shall have an LL.M. Degree (regular mode) from recognized University securing an aggregate of 55% marks or its equivalent grade (50% of the marks or its equivalent grade in case of SC/ST/SAP).
Ph.D. Degree in Public Policy Master’s Degree in Public Policy (regular mode) from a recognized University with 55% on the aggregate or equivalent grade (50% of the marks or its equivalent grade in case of SC/ST/SAP).
 

 

 

 

Ph.D. Degree (Interdisciplinary)

Master’s Degree in any discipline through regular stream with a minimum of 55% or equivalent grade (50% of the marks or its equivalent grade in case of SC/ST/SAP) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University through regular stream shall be eligible for admission;
Candidate having passed the Company Secretaryship examination conducted by the ICS in India and been awarded Associate Membership of the Institute (ACS) and having a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University through regular stream shall be eligible for admission;
Candidate having passed the Chartered Accountants examination conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants and been awarded Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and having a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University through regular stream shall be eligible for admission.
Master of Business Laws (MBL) from NLSIU with minimum CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of 4.00.
 

 

M.Phil

Candidate shall have an LL.M. Degree (regular mode) from a recognized University securing an aggregate of 55% marks or its equivalent grade (50% of the marks or its equivalent grade in case of SC/ST/SAP).
Candidate with MPP (Master of Public Policy) through regular mode from a recognized University securing an aggregate of 55% marks or its equivalent grade (50% of the marks or its equivalent grade in case of SC/ST/SAP) will be considered for M.Phil in Public Policy.

 

Selection Process

Written Test
Candidate will be selected by the P.G. Council upon consideration of the research proposal and the report submitted by the expert panel on the oral presentation

 

Fellowships

The University shall offer 3 Ph.D fellowships of Rs. 25,000 per month and waive hostel fees for 2 years to candidates who have a strong academic record and make a compelling research proposal.

Duly filled in applications along with their relevant credentials and the details of fee paid shall be submitted online.
