Nava Nalanda Mahavihara Admission 2019 – Nava Nalanda Mahavihara (NNM) Nalanda (Bihar) invites online application forms for admission in Post-Graduate/Under-Graduate/Diploma and Certificate Programs for the academic session 2019-20

Admissions will be made on the basis of merit in the Proficiency (Written/Oral) Tests, subject to fulfilling of eligibility requirements and availability of seats in the particular course for which the candidate has applied for and appeared in the Proficiency (Written/Oral) Test.

M.A. in: (i) Pali (ii) Philosophy (iii) Ancient History, Culture & Archaeology (iv) Sanskrit (v) Hindi (vi) English (vii) Tibetan Studies (viii) Buddhist Studies

  • Duration: 4 Semesters
  • No. of Seats: 40 seats in each subject
  • Eligibility Criteria: A candidate shall be eligible for appearing in the Proficiency (Written/Oral) Tests who has passed the 10+2+3 Degree Course or equivalent examination in any discipline with a minimum of 500/o marks in the aggregate from any University/Institution in India or from abroad recognized by the NNM as equivalent thereto.

B.A. in Pali (Hons.)

  • Duration: 6 Semesters
  • No. of Seats: 40 seats in each subject
  • Eligibility: A candidate shall be eligible for appearing in the Proficiency (Written) Tests leading to admission to B.A. (Hons.) in Pali. If he/she has passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination or Board, University and Institute of India and abroad.

 

Diploma Course* in (i) Pali (ii) Tibetan Studies

  • Duration: 2 Years
  • No. of Seats: 40 seats in each subject
  • Eligibility: The admission for Diploma courses in Pali and Tibetan Studies, shall be open to a person who has passed Certificate Course in concerned subject from NNM or any recognized University/ Institution recognized by the NNM as equivalent thereto.

 

P.G, Diploma in Chinese

  • Duration: 2 Years
  • No. of Seats: 40 seats in each subject
  • Eligibility: The admission for P.G. Diploma Course in Chinese shall be open to a person who has passed. 1’t year P.G. Certificate Course in Chinese.

 

P.G. Certificate* Course in Chinese

  • Duration: One Year
  • No. of Seats: 40 seats
  • Eligibility: The admission for Certificate courses in Chinese shall be open to a person who has passed the 10+2+3 Degree Course or equivalent examination in any discipline with a minimum of 50o/o marks in the aggregate from any University/Institution in India or abroad recognized by the NNM as equivalent thereto.

 

Certificate Course* in (i) Pali (ii) Tibetan Studies

  • Duration: One Year
  • No. of Seats: 40 seats in each subject
  • Eligibility: The admission for Certificate courses in Pali and Tibetan Studies shall be open to a person who has passed at least 10th examination with 55% marks in aggregate of Board, University or Institution of India and abroad recognized by the NNM as equivalent thereto.

 

Note

  • Certificate and Diploma Courses of the Mahavihara in Pali and Tibetan Studies can be pursued by a candidate independently before graduation or can concurrently while doing 8.A., M.A. and Ph.D. However, graduate of any discipline can pursue P.G. Certificate Course in Chinese after they qualify oral proficiency test of the Mahavihara.

Nava Nalanda Mahavihara Admission 2019 Application Process

  • The form completed in all respects may be submitted from 27th April 2019 to 31st May 2019 Online through, payment of Rs.500/- by electronic mode.
  • Admit Cards may be downloaded ONLINE from the NNM Website https://www.nnm.ac.in/admission.html
  • Foreign Nationals having foreign degrees are exempted from Proficiency (Written) Test. However, they would be required to appear for Oral Test which will be announced on website of Nava Nalanda Mahavihara, Nalanda.
  • Application Forms for admissions to various courses can be obtained from the office of the Nava Nalanda Mahavihara.
  • The candidates shall submit the duly filled in Application Form, along with prescribed enclosures and Application Processing Fee, to the Office of The Registrar, Nava Nalanda Mahavihara, Nalanda, Bihar, India-803111 within the prescribed deadline.
  • Reservation of seats shall be as per UGC norms

  • Online Submission of Form for Indian Students from 27th April 2019 to 31st May 2019
  • Online Submission of Form for Foreign Students from 15th May to 10th June 2019

 

Date of Proficiency (Written) Test for admission in:

  • B.A. (Hons.) in Pali, M.A. in Pali, Sanskrit, English, Hindi and Tibetan Studies from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.: 05th June 2019
  • M.A. in Philosophy from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.: 05th June 2019
  • M.A. in Ancient History, Culture & Archaeology from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 noon: 06th June 2019
  • M.A. in Buddhist Studies from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 pm: 06th June 2019
  • Proficiency (oral) Test for Admission in Certificate & Diploma Course in Pail, Chinese and Tibetan Studies will be announced later on the website of Nava Nalanda Mahavihara, Nalanda
