Eligibility Criteria for Kazi Nazrul University PhD Admission 2022

  • Candidates having Master’s degree with 55% marks {(50 % for SC/ST/ OBC & PWD (PH)} or its equivalent grade from any UGC recognized University in India or an equivalent degree of a recognized foreign University are eligible to apply
  • Provided further that a relaxation of 5% marks from 55% to 50% may be given for those who had obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September, 1991.
  • Candidates possessing a Degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree of an Indian Institution, from a Foreign Educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an appropriate authority

Exemption to Written Test/Research Eligibility Test (KNU-RET)

  • Candidates having cleared NET/SLET/SET/GATE/JEST/DST-INSPIRE/DBT-JRF/MPhil. at the time of notified closing date of application form are exempted from appearing Written Test/ Research Eligibility Test

Admission Procedure

  • Provisional lists of the candidates selected for (a) Written Entrance Test and (b) NET / SET etc. qualified candidates exempted from Written Entrance Test, will be published separately on the University website
  • All candidates (other than ones as mentioned above) will have to appear for a Written Entrance Test, and if qualified, have to appear for an interview/viva-voce to be conducted by the respective Department Research Committee

Qualifying Marks

  • In order to qualify for the Interview, each candidate will be required to score at least 50% considering Part-I & Part-II of the written test.

Interview

  • Each and every qualified candidate in Written Entrance Test and the candidates who have qualified/cleared M.Phil as per UGC Regulations, 2009 /NET/SLET/SET/GATE/JEST/DSTINSPIRE/ DBT-JRF will be required to appear in Interview/ Viva Voce to present and defend their research proposal
  • Interview will be conducted by the respective Board of Research Studies of the Departments

 

Admit Cards

  • Admit Cards will have to be downloaded by the candidates themselves by entering their Application Identification Number printed on their downloaded Application Form
  • The admit Card will be required to be produced at the time of Entrance Test
  • Candidates will not be allowed to sit for the Entrance Test without an Admit Card. Date of availability of Admit Cards on the website will be notified later.
