For admissions to B.A (Honours) Courses for the academic session 2018-19, shall NOT be considered, and his/her merit position shall NOT be changed

Specific Subjects

  • Bengali; Comparative Literature; For Economics[5-year Integrated B.A(Hons.) & M.A course]; English; History; Philosophy; Political Science; Sanskrit and Sociology

Eligibility Criteria

  • An applicant must have completed results at the 10+2 level at the time of application
  • Following Eligibility & Selection Procedures are applicable only for students who havecompleted school (10+2) in India
  • Foreign students or others who have completedschools (10+2) outside India must check Foreign Students Admission atjaduniv.edu.infor application procedure,eligibility and other criteria

Eligibility Criteria in Specific Subjects

For Bengali

  • General – At least 60% in aggregate with 60% in Bengali
  • PD – At least 57% in aggregate with 57% in Bengali
  • SC/ST – At least 45% in aggregate with 45% in Bengali
  • OBC-A & Kashmir Migrants /Sports: At least 54% inaggregate with 54% inBengali

For ComparativeLiterature

  • General –At least 70% in aggregate with 65% marks in first &second language each. Candidates must have two languages in H.S or equivalent exam
  • PD –At least 66% in aggregate with 61% marks in first & second language each. Candidates must have two languages in H.Sor equivalent exam
  • SC/ST – At least 52% in aggregate with 48% marks in first & second language each. Candidates must have two languages in H.Sor equivalent exam
  • OBC-A & Kashmir Migrants /Sports:At least 63% in aggregate with 58% marks in first & second language each. Candidates must have two languages in H.S or equivalent exam

For Economics[5-yearIntegratedB.A(Hons.) &M.A Course]

  • General –At least 70% in aggregate with 75% marks in Mathematics(marks in Business Mathematics will not be considered)
  • PD –At least 66% in aggregate with 71% marks in Mathematics marks in Business Mathematics will not be considered)
  • SC/ST – At least 52% in aggregate with 56% marks in Mathematics(marks in Business Mathematics will not be considered)
  • OBC-A & Kashmir Migrants /Sports:At least 63% in aggregate with 67% marks in Mathematics(marks in Business Mathematics will not be considered)

For English

  • General – At least 75% inaggregate
  • PD – At least 71% inaggregate
  • SC/ST –At least 56% inaggregate
  • OBC-A & Kashmir Migrants /Sports: At least 67% inaggregate

For Sanskrit

  • General – At least 60% in aggregate with 65% marks in Sanskrit
  • PD – At least 57% in aggregate with 61% marks in Sanskrit.
  • SC/ST –At least 45% in aggregate with 48% marks in Sanskrit
  • OBC-A & Kashmir Migrants /Sports:At least 54% in aggregate with 58% marks in Sanskrit.

*For English

  • Students who have completed the Cambridge International Exams General Certificate ofEducation or of approved British examining bodies as recognized by AIU, with at least two Advanced levelsubjects, will be eligible to appear in admission test to the BA English Honours class provided that:
  • They have previously completed GCSE with at least 5 subjects; One subject in which Advanced (A) level certification has been obtained is English; that the average quantitative score obtained in the Advanced level is not less than thatprescribed for other applicants
Selection Procedure
  • For Economics* [5-year Integrated B.A (Hons.) & M.A Course – Marks obtained by the candidates in Mathematics shall be added to theaggregate marks calculated following the guideline laid down in aggregatemarks calculation to arrive at the final score. Students shall be rankedaccording to their final score out of 500
  • For Sanskrit and Sociology – On the basis of aggregate marks obtained in the H.S. /Equivalent Examination
  • For Comparative Literatureand History – On the basis of a two hour written test
  • For Political Science – On the basis of 1) 50% weightage to the aggregate percentage obtained inH.S./Equivalent Examination. 2) 50% weightage to the performance in awritten test
  • For Bengali* – On the basis of 1) 50% weightage of marks obtained in Bengali & Englishtaken together in H.S./Equivalent Exam2) 50% weightage to theperformance in a written test
  • For Philosophy* – In accordance with a merit list based on (1) 50% weightage to the aggregatepercentage obtained in H.S./Equivalent Exam (2) 50% weightage to theperformance in a written test
  • For English* – All candidates will have to appear in a two-and-a-half-hour admission test. Test will be in two parts, of 30 + 100 marks respectively. The scripts of onlythose who obtain the minimum marks set by the Dept. in the first partwill be evaluated in the second part
  • Candidates who have passed the H.S. or its equivalent exam(under 10+2 system) through acorrespondence course under any recognized Board/Council will be required to sit for a PreliminaryQualifying Test (PQT) for admissions to BA (Honours) in Sanskrit and Sociology and 5-yearIntegrated B.A(Hons.) & M.A course in Economics

Application Process

  • Candidates are advised to visit the website admissionas.jdvu.ac.in and apply online. Before applying online read the instruction carefully given in the website
  • Before applying please read/print the eligibility criteria & selection procedure carefully. Before starting the registration process, you are advised to consult the ‘How to Apply’ section at the bottom
  • Each candidate will need to register only once. After registration, he/she can apply to as many departments he/she wishes (if eligible). He/she must note the Login-ID for future use.
  • After each application, he/she will get a unique Application No. Using this No he/she can relogging into the system
  • After 48 hours of form fill up, candidates should pay the application fees online through SBI I-Collect System using Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card (enter Date of Birth in dd-mm-yyyy format in SBI server) and print the e-receipt from SBI website for further reference.
  • After online payment through SBI I-Collect System,candidates have to upload the fees deposit details (SBCollect Ref. No.) by login to the system using Application No./Login ID. If you do not upload the fees deposit details within 28th June 2018 in the website
  • Last Date submission of application fees through SBI I-Collect System (using Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card) is 25th June 2018. After payment through online please print the e-receipt for further reference
