Eligibility Criteria for Jadavpur University B.A. (Hons) Admission 2019

  • An applicant must have completed results at the 10+2 level at the time of application.
  • Following eligibility and selection procedures are applicable only for students who have completed school (10+2) in India.
  • Foreign students or others who have completed schools (10+2) outside India must check Foreign Students Admission at http://www.jaduniv.edu.in/htdocs/foreign_student.php for application procedure, eligibility and other criteria.

 
Eligibility Criteria in Specific Subjects

For Bengali

  • General: At least 65% in aggregate with 65% in Bengali
  • PD: At least 61% in aggregate with 61% in Bengali.
  • SC/ST: At least 48% in aggregate with 48% in Bengali.
  • OBC-A/OBC-B/Kashmiri Migrants/Sports: At least 58% in aggregate with 58% in Bengali.

 
For Comparative Literature:

  • General: At least 70% in aggregate with 70% marks in first & second language each. Candidates must have two languages in H.S or equivalent Exam.
  • PD: At least 66% in aggregate with 66% marks in first & second language each. Candidates must have two languages in H.S or equivalent Exam
  • SC/ST: At least 52% in aggregate with 52% marks in first & second language each. Candidates must have two languages in H.S or equivalent Exam.
  • BC-A/OBC-B/Kashmiri Migrants/Sports: At least 63% in aggregate with 63% marks in first & second language each. Candidates must have two languages in H.S or equivalent Exam.

 
For Economics [5-year Integrated B.A(Hons.) & M.A course]:

  • General: At least 80% in aggregate with 80% marks in Mathematics (marks in Business Mathematics will not be considered).
  • PD: At least 76% in aggregate with 76% marks in Mathematics (marks in Business Mathematics will not be considered).
  • SC/ST: At least 60% in aggregate with 60% marks in Mathematics (marks in Business Mathematics will not be considered).
  • BC-A/OBC-B/Kashmiri Migrants/Sports: At least 72% in aggregate with 72% marks in Mathematics (marks in Business Mathematics will not be considered).

 
For English

  • General: At least 75% in aggregate.
  • PD: At least 71% in aggregate.
  • SC/ST: At least 56% in aggregate.
  • BC-A/OBC-B/Kashmiri Migrants/Sports: At least 67% in aggregate.

 
For History

  • General: At least 65% in aggregate.

Selection Procedure

  • For Economics [5-year Integrated B.A(Hons.) & M.A course: On the basis of 1) 50% weightage to the aggregate percentage (as per Aggregate marks calculation) obtained in H.S./Equivalent Examination. 2) 50% weightage to the performance in a written test.
  • For Comparative Literature: On the basis of 1) 25% weightage to the aggregate percentage obtained in H.S./Equivalent Examination. 2) 25% weightage of marks obtained in best two language subjects taken together in H.S./Equivalent Examination. 3) 50% weightage to the performance in a written test.
  • For History and Political Science: On the basis of 1) 50% weightage to the aggregate percentage obtained in H.S./Equivalent Examination. 2) 50% weightage to the performance in a written test.
  • For Bengali: On the basis of 1) 50% weightage of marks obtained in Bengali & English taken together in H.S./Equivalent Examination. 2) 50% weightage to the performance in a written test.
  • For Philosophy and Sociology: In accordance with a merit list based on 1) 50% weightage to the aggregate percentage obtained in H.S./Equivalent Examination. 2) 50% weightage to the performance in a written test.
  • For English: On the basis of 1) 50% weightage of marks obtained in English in H.S./Equivalent Examination. 2) 50% weightage to the performance in a written admission test.
  • For Sanskrit: On the basis of 1) 50% weightage of marks obtained in Sanskrit in H.S./Equivalent Examination. 2) 50% weightage to the performance in a written admission test.

 

Jadavpur University B.A. (Hons) Admission 2019 Application Process

  • Candidate are advised to visit the website http://www.jaduniv.edu. and Apply Online. Before applying please read/print the eligibility criteria & selection procedure carefully.
  • Before applying please read/print the eligibility criteria & selection procedure carefully. Before starting the registration process, you are advised to consult the ‘How to Apply’ section at the bottom.
  • Each candidate will need to register only once. After registration, he/she can apply to as many departments he/she wishes (if eligible). He/she must note the Login-ID for future use.
  • After each application, he/she will get a unique Application No. Using this No he/she can re login into the system.
  • After 48 hours of form fill up, candidates should pay the application fees online through SBI I-Collect System using Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card (enter Date of Birth in ddmmyyyy format in SBI server) and print the e-receipt from SBI website for further reference.
  • After online payment through SBI I-Collect System, candidates have to upload the fees deposit details (SB Collect Ref. No.) by login to the system using Application No./Login ID. The candidates who will not submit the application fees through on-line within the stipulated time their application will be rejected as per norms. Such default candidates will be given a time of 3 (three) working days to pay the application fees manually at Jadavpur University Cash Counter.
  • Last Date submission of application fees through SBI I-Collect System (using Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card) is extended upto 15/06/2019. After payment through online please print the e-receipt for further reference.
