Eligibility Criteria for IIIT Guwahati PhD Admission 2020
| PhD CSE and ECE | Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology in the relevant area with a minimum Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 6.5 or 60% of the marks. |
| Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Medical Sciences or equivalent in a relevant area with a minimum CPI of 7.0 or 65% of the marks. | |
| PhD HSS | Master’s degree in Political Science/ Economics with at least 60% marks or a CPI of 6.0 |
| Candidates with MPhil degree/ NET-JRF will be given preference. | |
| PhD Mathematics | MA/ MSc/ M.Tech in Mathematics with at least 60% marks or a CPI of 6.5 |
| For candidates with a B.Tech / MA / MSc, preference will be given to those who have cleared GATE / NET/ JRF. | |
Reservations
| SC, ST, OBC (Non-creamy layer) and PD categories | Eligibility criteria will be relaxed by 5% marks or 0.5 CPI for SC/ST/PD applicants. Reservation is as per GOI rules |
| OBC (Non-creamy layer) candidates will have to enclose certificate and self- declaration statement | |
| The OBC (NCL) Certificate, issued by competent authority, on or after 01-06-2018, shall only be acceptable. |
