IIG Mumbai PhD Admission 2021 – Indian Institute of Geomagnetism (IIG) Mumbai invites application for Doctoral Program in Geomagnetism and Allied Fields pertinent to studies of Solid Earth, Upper Atmosphere and Observatory Data Analysis for the academic session 2021-22. Applications are invited in online and offline mode from the eligible candidates till 19th April 2021.

Eligibility Criteria for IIG Mumbai PhD Admission 2021
  • M.Sc./M.Sc. (Tech.) in disciplines Physics / Geophysics /Space Physics/Applied Geology & Applied Mathematics with a minimum of 60% marks throughout and Physics or Mathematics as a subject in B.Sc.
  • INSPIRE candidates having qualified PET or equivalent exam from the above mentioned Universities (1-7) in respective subjects can also apply. Those appearing for Master’s degree final year examination in the year 2021 may also apply.

  • Maximum Age – 25 years as on 1st July, 2021

  • Candidates can apply online through the official website http://iigm.res.in
  • Online Application form are available on the official website http://iigm.res.in
  • Kindly submit your application to [email protected] in a single pdf consisting of application form, self attested copies of the academic (SSC onwards) and other certificates. The soft copy of application form is available on http://www.iigm.res.in/careers/research-scholars. The last date of submission of application form is April 19, 2021.
  • After Online submission, the applicant must obtain a print-out of application and send it by post to following address with self-attested copies of uploaded certificates (SSC onwards)
  • The soft copy of application form is also available on http://iigm.res.in for offline submissions.

Travel Assistance
  • Second class train fare by the shortest route will be paid to the outstation candidates subject to the submission of photo copy of the valid travel ticket.

Selection Criteria
  • Candidates who are in possession of the GATE/NET/INSPIRE certificate valid up to January, 2022 in above mentioned subjects or PET (from universities mentioned above in Eligibility) may be called for the interview directly.
  • Candidates who have not qualified any of the above tests will have to appear for a written test and a personal interview at IIG, Navi Mumbai. However, if selected, they will have to qualify any of the tests as mentioned in the preamble, within one year.
