Eligibility Criteria for HPNLU Shimla PhD Admission 2020

  • Postgraduate in Law from any recognized University/Institution
  • The candidate must have qualified UGC/NTA-NET or JRF
  • Candidate whose final year LL.M. result is awaited but have already qualified UGC/NTA-NET or JRF may also apply

HPNLU Shimla PhD Admission 2020 Application Process

  • Application form can be downloaded from University Website https://hpnlu.ac.in/
  • Candidates who are interested in admission to a given course, should fill an application in prescribed proforma only. Candidates should fill all details carefully in application form and affix latest passport size photograph
  • PDF of Duly filled application form along with scanned copy of related documents should be sent to the email id –  admission@hpnlu.ac.in with the subject “Application for Ph.D. Programme 2020-21”.

Application Fee

Candidates should pay through State Bank Collect only.

Selection Process

Candidates (five times of the notified vacant seats) will be invited for presentation of the Research Proposal. For this purpose, the applications will be screened on the following criteria:

(i) UGC/NTA-Junior Research Fellowship in Law


(ii) National Eligibility Test (UGC/NTA-NET)


(iii) LL.M. Percentage


(iv) Research Proposal


Note – Weightage to LL.M. percentage will be calculated in following manner: LL.M. percentage 50-59= 05 Marks (for SC/ ST/ Specially Abled Person/PWD); 55-59= 05 Marks (for General); 60-69= 10 Marks; 70-79= 15 Marks; 80-89= 20 Marks; 90 and above = 25 Marks]
