Dharwad Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology & M.Phil. in Psychiatric Social Work Admission 2019-20

DIMHANS M.Phil Admission 2019 – Applications in the prescribed format are invited from Karnataka Domicile candidates for the following two year full-time M.Phil Courses in Clinical Psychology (RCI approved) and M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work, at DIMHANS, Dharwad, both affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore for the academic year 2019-20.

DIMHANS M.Phil Admission 2019 Important Dates

  • Date of issuing Application forms: 26th August 2019 to 20th September 2019
  • Last Date for Submission of Application (hard copy): 21th September 2019
  • Date of Entrance Examination: 29th September 2019 (11.00 AM to 12.30 PM)

Eligibility Criteria

For M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work

  • Two years degree in MA Social Work/MSW (completed as full time under UGC recognised Universities)
  • The candidates should have secured not less than 55% marks in the aggregate. For SC/ST candidates minimum marks required is 50%.

For M.Phil in Clinical Psychology

  • Two years degree in MA/M.Sc. Psychology/Counselling Psychology/Psychological Counselling/Applied Psychology/Clinical Psychology (completed as full time under UGC recognised Universities)
  • The candidates should have secured not less than 55% marks in the aggregate. For SC/ST candidates minimum marks required is 50%.

Number of Seats

  • Five seats in M.Phil. Psychiatric Social Work and Five seats in M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology. (One of the seats would be reserved for in-service candidate on approval of government) Seats are going to be filled as per State Govt reservation roster for higher education in each course. However if no eligible candidates are available under any reserved seats, they shall be filled by eligible candidates from general merit.

 

Selection Criteria

  • Age Limit and Domicile:

 

  • The candidate should be less than 45 years of age (Calculated as on 1st September 2019).
  • Candidates should have Karnataka domicile certificate.

 

Selection Process

  • The applicants should appear for the Entrance Test conducted by DIMHANS. All the candidates should clear the MCQ-type written entrance test with minimum of 50% marks to become eligible for interview. After the entrance test a list of candidates qualified for interview/ counselling in order of merit will be announced.
  • The selection is entirely based on marks obtained in entrance examination. In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in entrance test, merit will be considered based on the marks in qualifying exam. Seat allotment will be done through counselling/interview.

 

Entrance Test

  • Entrance Test consists of 100 multiple choice, objective type questions. Each question carries one mark with negative marking of 0.25 marks for wrong answers. The duration of Entrance Test shall be 90 Minutes.
  • Candidates appearing for Entrance test shall carry their valid ID proof for collecting Hall Ticket on the day of entrance test.
  • Candidates should report at 9 am in the venue.

 

Application Procedure

  • Application form can be obtained in person from DIMHANS office or downloaded from the website: www.dimhans.org
  • Application fee (non-refundable) is Rs.1000/- for general & OBC candidates and Rs.500/- for SC/ST candidates. DD drawn in favour of ‘Director, DIMHANS’, payable at Dharwad from any nationalised bank, should be sent along with the completed application form.
