Dibrugarh University announces Admission to M.A in Applied Psychology and P.G Diploma in Counselling Psychology 2019

Dibrugarh University MA in Applied Psychology and PGD in Counselling Psychology 2019 – The Centre for Studies in Behavioral Sciences (CSBS) invites online applications from interested eligible candidates for admission into the MA in Applied Psychology and PG Diploma in Counselling Psychology (PGDCP) Program(s) for the Academic Session 2019-2020.

Dibrugarh University MA in Applied Psychology and PGD in Counselling Psychology 2019 Important Dates:

  • Start of online Registration: 21st June 2019
  • Last Date for submission of online application: 15th July2019 (up to 5.00 pm)
  • Date of Entrance test: 23rd July 2019 (10.30 am to 12.30 pm)
  • Date for declaration of Entrance Test result: 26th July 2019
  • Date of Admission: Will be notified in the website www.dibru.ac.in along with the notification of the provisionally selected candidates.

 

Course Duration:

  • M.A in Applied Psychology: 2 years-4 Semesters
  • PG Diploma in Counselling Psychology: 1 year- 2 Semesters

Intake Capacity:

  • MA in Applied Psychology: 35+04 (Endowment Seats) = 39 seats
  • PG Diploma in Counselling Psychology: 18+02 (Endowment Seats) = 20 Seats

 

Eligibility Criteria for Dibrugarh University MA in Applied Psychology and PGD in Counselling Psychology 2019

For MA in Applied Psychology & Diploma in Applied Psychology;

  • Candidates having Bachelor’s degree (excluding Fine Arts), including a medical degree, and other Technical graduates from Dibrugarh University or any other University recognized by the UGC with at least 45% marks in major or 50% marks in aggregate will be eligible for admission to the MA in Programme.
  • There will be a relaxation of 5% marks for candidates from the SC/ST/OBC categories.

For PG Diploma in Counselling Psychology (PGDCP)

  • Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in Applied Psychology/ Psychology, Education, Sociology and Social Work from Dibrugarh University or any other University recognized by the UGC.
  • Candidates should have at least 50% marks at the Master’s level to be eligible for admission to the Post Graduate Diploma in Counseling Psychology (PGDCP) Programme.
  • There will be a relaxation of 5% marks for candidates from the SC/ST/OBC categories.
  • Reservation of seats in the PGDCP shall be as per the specified norms of Dibrugarh University.

 

Selection Process

  • Provisional selection of candidates for admission into the MA Programme offered by the Centre will be made on the basis of an Entrance Test of 100 marks, to be held in the 4th week of July 2019, which will be of 02 (two) hours duration. 
  • The final selection of candidates will be based on an Interview of the candidate on the day of admission, when verification of all original mark-sheets will be undertaken by the Admission Committee of the Centre for Studies in Behavioral Sciences (CSBS) for the academic session 2019-20 Admission for the PG Diploma in Counseling Psychology (PGDCP) Programme, will be based on an Interview and Viva of the applicants to the Programme, who will be provisionally selected on the basis of their PG level marks for the Interview at the Centre on a notified date in the month of July 2019. 
  • Final List of selected candidates will be notified on the basis of the composite score of their PG level marks and the score obtained in the Interview in the Admission Notification of selected candidates in the last week of the month of July 2019.

Exam Pattern

  • The Entrance Test of the Centre for Studies in Behavioral Sciences (CSBS) will be held on 23 rd July 2019. The Entrance Test will be held in the premises of the CSBS, from 10.30 AM to 12.30 PM. It shall carry a total of 100 marks consisting of 35 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of 2marks each, an English Comprehension and one Statement of Purpose (SOP). The MCQs will be from the following areas:
  • General Awareness: 30 marks
  • Subject Aptitude: 20 marks
  • Reasoning ability: 20 marks
  • Apart from the MCQs in each of these three areas, there will be:
  • English Comprehension: 20 marks
  • Statement of Purpose (SOP): 10 marks

 

Dibrugarh University MA in Applied Psychology and PGD in Counselling Psychology 2019 Application Process

  • The intending candidates need to apply online through the “Online Application Submission” portal of Dibrugarh University which is available at www.dibru.online from 21.06.2019. 
  • The application fee of Rs.500/- needs to be paid at the time of applying online through Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Internet Banking. 
  • On successful submission of the Application, an Acknowledgement Slip with “SUCCESS” status will be generated. Candidates are advised to download and print the Acknowledgement Slip along with the submitted Application Form and Admit Card for future reference.
