Delhi Technological University (DTU) announces BBA and BA (Hons) Economics Admission 2019

DTU BBA and BA Economics Admissions 2019 – Delhi Technological University (DTU), East Delhi Campus, invites applications for admission to Undergraduate Programs in BBA & BA (Hons) Economics Program for the academic year 2019-20

 

DTU BBA and BA Economics Admissions 2019 Important Dates

  • Opening of website for online registration: 9th June 2019
  • Last date for online registration: 7th July 2019
  • Display of list of eligible candidates for 1st round on DTU website: 12th July 2019
  • 1st round of admission (candidates are required to report along with original documents and pay the fees: 16th July 2019 for BA (Hons) and 17th July 2019 for BBA
  • Display of list of eligible candidates for 2nd round on DTU website: 19th July 2019
  • 2nd round of admission (candidates are required to report along with original documents and pay the fees: 23th July 2019 for BA (Hons) and 24th July 2019 for BBA
  • Display of list of eligible candidates for 3rd round on DTU website: 26th July 2019
  • 3rd round of admission and last date admission (candidates are required to report along with original documents and pay the fees: 30ty July 2019
  • Display of Vacant seats for spot round on DTU website: 6th August 2019

Eligibility Criteria for DTU BBA and BA Economics Admissions 2019

For BBA Program

  • The candidate must have scored at least 50% marks in 12th board examination from a recognized board and must also have passed English (Core/Elective/Functional) as a subject in the 12th Board Exam.
  • Those who are appearing in the exam may also apply provided the exam may also apply, provided that they submit the proof of eligibility by a specific date declared by the University.

 

Admission Criteria

  • The merit list shall be drawn on the basis of marks in best of four subjects (including English) in XII Board Examination or its equivalent examination. Vocational / Skill-based courses (as specified in the CBSE list) will not be counted in the best four subjects.
  • To resolve and determine inter-se merit of candidates having the same percentage in the best of four subjects (including English), the following criterion will be used in the stated order of preference:
  • Candidates having higher score in English (Core/Elective/Functional) will be given preference.
  • In case the score in English is the same, then the date of birth will be considered. Elder candidates will be given preference.

 
For BA (Hons.) Economics

  • The candidate must have scored at least 50% marks in 12th board examination from a recognized board and must also have passed Mathematics as a subject in 12th Board exam.
  • Those who are appearing in the exam may also apply provided the exam may also apply, provided that they submit the proof of eligibility by a specific date declared by the University.

 

Admission Criteria

  • The merit list shall be drawn on the basis of marks in best of four subjects (including Mathematics) in XII Board Examination or its equivalent examination. Vocational / Skill-based courses (as specified in the CBSE list) will not be counted in the best four subjects.
  • To resolve and determine inter-se merit of candidates having the same percentage in the best of four subjects (including English), the following criterion will be used in the stated order of preference:
  • Candidates having higher score in English (Core/Elective/Functional) will be given preference.
  • In case the score in English is the same, then the date of birth will be considered. Elder candidates will be given preference.
  • Note: Candidates who have got a compartment in 2019 in any subject will not be eligible for admission.

 
Relaxation

  • Relaxation in minimum marks criterion in qualifying examination for reserved category/sub-category candidates
  • Candidates belonging to various reserved categories namely OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Sub-categories namely defense, person with disability, who apply for seats reserved for them, shall be allowed a relaxation in the minimum marks criterion as mentioned below”
  • Other Backward Class (OBC- NCL): Relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum marks criterion in the qualifying exam.
  • Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST): Relaxation of 10% marks in the minimum marks criterion in the qualifying exam.
  • Defence Personnel (CW): Candidates claiming reservation under defence sub-category shall be allowed a Relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum marks criterion in the qualifying exam.
  • Person with Disability: Candidates claiming reservation under Person with Disability sub-category shall be allowed a Reflection of 10% marks in the minimum marks criterion in the qualifying exam.

 
Reservation Policy

  • Delhi Region: Candidates (85% of seats) – A candidate passing the qualifying examination from a recognized School / College / Institute located within the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi will be considered for Delhi Region only
  • Outside Delhi Region: Candidates (15% of seats) – A candidate passing the qualifying exam from a recognized School/College/Institute located outside the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi will be considered for Outside Delhi Region only.
  • Scheduled Caste (SC): 15 % of the total seats are reserved for SC candidates
  • Scheduled Tribe (ST): 7.5 % of the total seats are reserved for ST candidates
  • Other Backward Class (OBC- NCL): 27% of the total seats are reserved for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates
  • Sub-categories namely ‘Defence’ and ‘Person with Disability’ are available under each category (General, SC/ST/OBC-NCL)
  • Defence Personnel: 5% of the total seats in each category are reserved for candidates belonging to Defence sub-category
  • Person with Disability: 5% of the total seats in each category are reserved for candidates belonging to ‘Person with Disability’ sub-category

DTU BBA and BA Economics Admissions 2019 Application Process

  • Interest Candidates are required to fill the online application form available on www.dtu.ac.in
  • The candidates are required to fill the online application form and make an online payment of Rs. 1000/- for General and OBC Category and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST and PwD.
  • Candidates are required to fill separate application form for each program and accordingly pay the online fee.
  • A candidate who has secured admission in on program and is willing to take admission in the second program should withdraw his/her admission from the first program.

 
Fee Structure

  • The annual fee of the BBA/B.A. (H) Economics program will have to be deposited by the candidate at the time of admission. Candidates must note that the admission fee must be paid in single instalment failing which the admission offer will be withdrawn immediately.
