CEPT University announces Admission to Undergraduate Program for session 2019

CEPT University UG Admission 2019 – CEPT University offers admission into various UG Programmes like Bachelor of Interior Design, Bachelor of Urban Design, Bachelor of Design (Building Products and Systems), Bachelor of Architecture & Bachelor of Construction Technology for the academic year 2019-20

All undergraduate programs at CEPT offer choice-based-learning where students can choose up to a quarter of the credits from University-wide electives.

  • BCT – Bachelor of Construction Technology = Total Seats: 60 [30 Seats to be filled in by ACPC, GoG] – 30 [Seats to be filled in by CEPT University (All India Seats)]
  • B.Arch – Bachelor of Architecture = Total Seats: 80 [50% of total seats to be filled in by ACPC, GoG] – 40 [50% of total seats to be filled in by CEPT University (All India Seats)]
  • BUD – Bachelor of Urban Design = Total Seats: 40 [Total seats to be filled in by CEPT University (All India Category)

Eligibility Criteria for CEPT University UG Admission 2019

Bachelor of Architecture

  • A candidate must have passed an examination at the end of the 10 + 2 scheme with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and 50% marks in aggregate of the 10 + 2 level examination from any State board or its equivalent in CBSE/CISCE/NIOS/IB or passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate from Technical Board of Gujarat or any other state or from a college/university established under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956.
  • Note: Additionally the student will have to meet the minimum qualifying marks for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) test as per Council of Architecture.

 

For Bachelor of Interior Design

    • Candidate must have passed HSC (10+2) Examination from Gujarat state board or any other State board with Science Stream or its equivalent in CBSE/CISCE/NIOS/ISB/IB with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Computer as optional subject (all at higher/advanced level), securing a minimum aggregate score of 50%.

 

  • Note:

 

  • In all the cases, aggregate will be calculated based on all the subjects including languages, optional courses, practical examination etc. Failure in any subject disqualifies the candidature. Applicants having equivalent qualifications other than that stated above will have to submit an attested copy of equivalence certificate from the appropriate authority along with the application.
  • Candidates awaiting HSC result will have to produce a certificate from the principal of the high school that he/she has appeared in the XII Standard examination of the Science Stream. Candidates who have applied for verification/rechecking of marks may also apply and submit the rechecking certificate. All the candidates must submit final mark sheet on or before the stipulated date and time and satisfy the minimum requirements failing which admission will not be granted/ forfeited.

 

For Bachelor of Urban Design

  • Certificate Examination) or its equivalent examination from any streams (Science, Commerce and Arts/Humanities), from Gujarat state board or any other State boards or CBSE/CISCE/NIOS/ISB/IB, with a minimum aggregate score of 50% for all subjects. Or
  • Applicants should have passed the Diploma (10+3 pattern) of any stream with 50% aggregate marks from Technical Board of Gujarat or any other state or from a college/university established under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 will be eligible to apply for the program.

 

For Bachelor of Construction Technology

  • Candidate must have passed HSCE (10+2) Examination from any other State board with Science Stream or its equivalent in CBSE/CISCE/NIOS/ISB/IB with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer as optional subject (all at higher/advance level), with minimum 50% aggregate marks.

  • Applicants should have passed the qualifying examination (Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination) or its equivalent examination from any streams (Science, Commerce and Arts/Humanities), from Gujarat state board or any other State boards or CBSE/CISCE/NIOS/ISB/IB, with a minimum aggregate score of 60% for all subjects. or
  • Applicants should have passed the Diploma (10+3 pattern) of Civil, mechanical, architecture, or architectural assistantship stream with minimum 60% aggregate marks from Technical Board of Gujarat or any other state or from a college/university established under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956 will be eligible to apply for the program.

Selection Procedure

For BID Course

This will be done in three stages as mentioned here:

    • Stage 1–Scrutiny for eligibility: All applications received will be scrutinized based on information provided/uploaded in the application forms. This scrutiny is to check whether the applicant meets the eligibility criteria. Only those applicants who meet the eligibility criteria and pass the scrutiny will be considered for Stage 2 (Aptitude Test)
    • Stage 2 – Aptitude Test: All eligible applicants will be called for aptitude test. It is mandatory for all the eligible applicants to appear in the aptitude test to be conducted by CEPT University for considering in the merit list of admission. Absence in any test will disqualify the applicant from admission.

 

  • Aptitude Test will be made up of 2 Modules:

 

  • Module 1: Drawing based on Visual Perception Drawing based questions will be based on the theme of Perception, Observation, Creativity, Imagination, Analysis.
  • Module 2: MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions)
  • Logical Reasoning, Basic principles of Maths and Science, Social and cultural awareness, Design awareness, Problem Solving, English Communication.
  • Stage 3 – Preparation of Merit List: Candidates will be selected based on aggregate score of HSC and performance in the aptitude test at CEPT University, Ahmedabad. The final list of merit order would be based on the following weightage:
  • Aptitude Test Score Weightage – 70%
  • HSC Aggregate Score Weightage – 30%

 

For BUD Course

  • The evaluation of applications will be done in four stages as mentioned here:
  • Stage 1: Scrutiny for Eligibility
  • All applications received will be scrutinized based on information provided/uploaded in the application forms. This scrutiny is to check whether the applicant meets the eligibility criteria set for the program. Only those applicants who meet the eligibility criteria will be considered for Stage 2 or else the application form will not be entertained further.
  • Stage 2: Written Admission Test
  • All eligible applicants will be called for aptitude test. It is mandatory for all the eligible applicants to appear for the admission test to be conducted by CEPT University for consideration in the merit list of admission. Absence in any test will disqualify the applicant from admission. The paper for the Written Admission Test will include four sections and the weightages for each section are mentioned below:

  • The evaluation of written examination will be done by the faculty members of CEPT University based on decided criteria for evaluation of the examination paper.
  • Stage 3: Shortlisting for Personal Interview
  • After appearing for the Written Admission Test, all the applicants do not automatically qualify to reach the Personal Interview. Those applicants who qualify at the Written Admission Test based upon the University decided cut-off marks will be shortlisted and called for a Personal Interview to complete the process.
  • The personal interview for shortlisted applicants will be evaluated by a panel of faculty members using the following criteria: communication skills, awareness and sensitivity, and knowledge about the subject

 

For BCT Course

  • The evaluation will be done in three stages as mentioned below:
  • Stage1-Scrutiny for eligibility: All applications received will be scrutinized based on information provided/uploaded in the application forms. This scrutiny is to check whether the applicant meets the eligibility criteria. Only those applicants who meet the eligibility criteria and pass the scrutiny will be considered for Stage 2 (Aptitude Test).
  • Stage2– Aptitude Test: All eligible applicants will be called for the CEPT aptitude test. It is mandatory for all the eligible applicants to appear in the aptitude test to be conducted by CEPT University for considering in the merit list of admission. Absence in any test will disqualify the applicant from admission

 

For Bachelor of Architecture

  • For the candidates who are eligible for admission, sum of 50 percentage weightage of the aggregate marks of all subjects of the qualifying examination (HSC examination) and the 50-percentage weightage of the valid NATA score obtained in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture shall be the merit marks for the Bachelor of Architecture Course

  • Candidates will have to see the official website and apply themselves by creating an email id on their website.
  • CEPT 2019 Application Form has been Released for UG Courses.
  • CEPT 2019 Application Form can be filled till 23rd June 2019 for UG Courses.
  • After the account is made the candidate will then press on the form to open the form.
  • After the form is opened candidates will then have to write all the information as it has been asked on the form.
  • Candidates should be very careful while writing the form as it should not match with the before educational certificates.

Application Fees

  • The application fee is RS 500/- and it should be paid right on time of the application form.
  • The last step is to check the form and then press on “Submit”
  • The form should be given on the last day or else it can get rejected.
  • Application fee once paid will not be refunded back or adjusted in any care.
