CSIR -Central Electronics Engineering announces Admission to MTech/IDP/ PhD Programs 2021

CSIR-CEERI MTech, IDP, PhD Admission 2021 – CSIR-CEERI invites applications from bright and motivated candidates for its MTech/IDP/PhD programs in Engineering for the  August-2021 and January-2022 session under the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR)

CSIR – Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute is a national laboratory engaged in advanced research and development in all areas of Electronics and allied engineering discipline.

CSIR-CEERI MTech, IDP, PhD Admission 2021 Important Dates

For August Session 2021

  • Last date to submit online application :- 31st May 2021

For January Session 2022

  • Start date of online application for admission :- 16th March 2021
  • Last date to submit online application  :31st August  2021

Eligibility Criteria for CSIR-CEERI MTech, IDP, PhD Admission 2021

For PhD (Sciences) and Sponsored PhD (Sciences)

PhD (Sciences) :

  •  Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology, Medicine or Master’s degree in Science are eligible to apply. The candidate should be having a valid National level fellowship (JRF/ SRF of various funding agencies, e.g. CSIR, UGC, DBT, DST etc.) or any other equivalent fellowship like INSPIRE, RGNF etc.
  • Project Assistants, Senior Research Fellows, Group-IV Scientists and Group-III Technical Staff of CSIR are also eligible to apply (as per relevant AcSIR rules).

Sponsored PhD (Sciences) :

  • Master’s degree in Science with endorsement from Industry, Academic or Research Institutes for required academic leave and financial support during the program.
  • Applicants qualifying their degree in percentage shall use the formula, CGPA=(Percentage + 5) /10. Applicants with percentage ≥ 95%, shall fill 10 CGPA in the Online Application Form.

For PhD (Engineering) and Sponsored PhD (Engineering) :

  • A Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology following a four-year engineering/ technology or 4/5 year science degree; or an integrated minimum-5-year M Tech degree; or equivalent.

At least one of the following :

  • Awarded a national-level fellowship (such as NET JRF) tenable at CSIR institutes
  • Meeting all the conditions required for eligibility for the CSIR-SRF
  • Meeting all the conditions for award of the INSPIRE fellowship (typically awarded to students ranked first in the University)
  • Meeting all the conditions stipulated by AcSIR for Project Assistants to register for a PhD
  • Meeting all the conditions stipulated by AcSIR for industry-sponsored  students.
  • Project Assistants, Senior Research Fellows, Group-IV Scientists and Group-III Technical Staff of CSIR are also eligible to apply (as per relevant AcSIR rules).

Note – Candidates wishing to work in the multi-/transdisciplinary areas aligned to current theme areas and R&D focus of CSIR-CEERI are also encouraged to apply.

For IDDP (Integrated Dual Degree M.Tech-Ph.D) Program:

  • 4-year undergraduate degree in Engineering or Science (such as BE/BTech/BS), or a five year degree in Science (such as MSc), or equivalent.

At least one of the following

  • Awarded a national-level fellowship (such as NET JRF) tenable at CSIR institutes
  • Meeting all the conditions required for eligibility for the CSIR-GATE-JRF
  • Meeting all the conditions for award of the INSPIRE fellowship (typically awarded to students ranked first in the University)
  • Meeting all the conditions stipulated by AcSIR for Project Assistants to register for a PhD
  • Meeting all the conditions stipulated by AcSIR for industry-sponsored* students.

Note: Project Assistants, Senior Research Fellows, Group-IV Scientists and Group-III Technical Staff of CSIR are also eligible to apply (as per relevant AcSIR rules).

For M.Tech Program:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology following a four-year engineering/technology or 4/5 year science degree or equivalent degree.
  • Awarded a national-level fellowship tenable at CSIR institutes. Qualifying all the conditions required for eligibility for the CSIR-SRF, or CSIR-GATE-JRF
  • A valid GATE score, or CGPA ≥ 8.0 from a CFTI at the BE-level examination

For M.Sc Program :

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Science stream/ B.Sc or equivalent degree.

CSIR-CEERI MTech, IDP, PhD Admission 2021 Application Process

  • Interested candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria can apply online at AcSIR Online-Admission Portal: http://acsir.emli.in/

For Admission Process, you need to follow two phases:

Sign-Up phase:

  • In the Sign-Up phase, once you successfully Sign-Up on AcSIR Online Admission Portal, you will be receiving an auto email on your email-id with login credentials and link to be re-directed for further complete admission form fill-up process.

Online Application Form Phase /l

  • On completion of AcSIR Online Application form, AcSIR Application Number (AAN) will be generated e.g. AcSIR12345. This AAN shall be used in future correspondence between applicant and AcSIR.

 Selection Process

  • Short-listed candidates will be intimated electronically and they will be required to appear for Test and/or Interview at the designated centers on the dates announced, based on which final selection would be made.
