BIT Mesra announces admission to M.Tech. and M.Sc. Programs 2021 Special Round of Admission against vacant seats 

BIT Mesra M.Tech. and M.Sc. Admission 2021 – Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra invites applications from prospective candidates for admission to the following Postgraduate Programs against vacant seats for the Academic Session 2021-22.

  • Last date to Apply Online : 15th August 2021
  • Date for Counselling cum Interview : 18th August 2021  

Eligibility Criteria for BIT Mesra M.Tech. and M.Sc. Admission 2021

For the M.Tech. Programs

  • B.E. / B.Tech. / AMIE / MCA / equivalent degree in the appropriate disciplines / branches mentioned below for the respective courses, with a minimum 55% marks on average (50% for SC/ST) in graduation / MCA.
  • M.Sc. / M.A. degree or equivalent in the appropriate disciplines / branches mentioned below for the respective courses with 55% (50% for SC/ST), after graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in 10+2+3 system from a recognized University.
  • Candidates should preferably be GATE / GATE / GATE qualified. Non-GATE candidates may also apply. However, their applications will be considered only after applicants who have qualified in GATE have been considered for admission.
  • Candidates appearing for final examinations of their Bachelor’s program in 2021 can also apply.
  • He/she has obtained requisite marks [55% (50% for SC/ST) upto pre-final year / semester] or equivalent based on latest available grades / marks.

For the M.Sc. Program

  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification of any of the Universities.
  • This degree must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling [Class 12 or equivalent] (10+2+3 system).
  • Candidates of B.Sc. / B.A. Honours must have a minimum 55% marks on average (50% for SC/ST) in their Honours subject. Candidates of other graduate courses must have a minimum 55% marks on average (50% for SC/ST) in graduation.
  • Candidates appearing for final examinations of their Bachelor’s program in 2021 can also apply.

Application Fee

  • For General / OBC Candidates : Rs.2,500/-
  • For SC/ST Candidates : Rs.1,500/-
  • Pay Application Fee : Through net banking / debit card / credit card of any nationalized bank.

Selection Procedure

M.Tech. Programs:

  • GATE Qualified Candidates: Based on GATE scores and Academic Performance (80% weightage to GATE and 20% weightage to Academic Performance).
  • Non-GATE Candidates: Based on Interview and Academic Performance (20% weightage to Interview and 80% weightage to Academic Performance).

M.Sc. Programs:    

  • JAM / CUCET Qualified Candidates: Based on JAM / CUCET scores and Academic Performance (80% weightage to JAM / CUCET and 20% weightage to Academic Performance).
  • Non-JAM / CUCET Candidates:  Based on Interview and Academic Performance (20% weightage to Interview and 80% weightage to Academic Performance).
  • Note: The interviews of the shortlisted applicants will be conducted online through video conferencing (Google Meet) as per the schedule given below. All applicants are therefore advised to download the Google Meet App in advance and be available for the counselling / interview. Intimation will also be sent through email before the counselling / interview.
