West Bengal GNM and ANM Admission Eligibility Criteria 2022
- Candidates can get the eligibility criteria needed to apply for admission below. Fulfillment of eligibility criteria is a must for all the applicants and is based on last year’s record. Course-wise eligibility requirements are given below.
General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)
- Age Limit: 17 to 27 years, as on December 31 of the year of admission
- Citizenship: Applicant must be an Indian citizen as well as a permanent resident of West Bengal uninterruptedly for at a minimum of 5 years before the date of application submission
- Language fluency: The candidates must be able to read, write and express in Bengali or Nepali.
- Qualifications: One must have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) from West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education, Vocational Agricultural Exam and Vocational Health Care Science Exam from West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development. Also, the applicants must have obtained 40% marks in English and in aggregate.
Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery (ANM)
- Only female candidates can apply.
- Age Limit: 17 to 30 years, as on December 31 of the year of admission
- Citizenship: Applicant must be an Indian citizen as well as a permanent resident of Gram Panchayat area of the concerned district of West Bengal uninterrupted for at a minimum of 5 years before the date of application submission.
- Language fluency: The candidates must be able to read, write and express in Bengali or Nepali.
- Qualifications: One must have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) from West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education, Vocational Agricultural Exam and Vocational Health Care Science Exam from West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development. Also, the applicants must have obtained 40% marks in English and in aggregate.
West Bengal GNM and ANM Admission Application Process 2022
- Candidates can access and submit the application form online on the official website www.wbjeeb.nic.in
- There is no other mode to submit the application form.

- Step 4 Upload a scanned copy of the Photograph and Signature
- Step 5 Pay the application fee in online mode only
- Step 6 Keep copies of the confirmation page, admit card in safe custody.
Application Fee and Mode of Payment
- Candidates have to pay the following application fee through Net banking, Debit card, Credit Card only.
- General Candidates – Rs 300/-
- SC/ST/OBC Candidates – Rs 200/-
Selection Procedure
- Selection of the applicants is made strictly based on marks obtained in the common entrance exam. After that, the counseling process will conduct for seat allotment in different ANM / GNM institutes of West Bengal
- The seat allotment is done as per schedule given above on this page. If a candidate is provisionally selected for both ANM and GNM training courses, she can only take admission in one based on her preference.
Exam Pattern
- West Bengal ANM / GNM Entrance Exam
- The examination will be conducted on 11th & 12th June 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM
- The paper will contain sixty five (65) Questions
- All questions will be of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) type, with four answer options. Time for the paper is 1 hour and 30 Minutes
- The questions will be in both English and Bengali language except the English grammar and the logical reasoning part.
Questions Distribution
- Life Science (Class IX and X Level): 25 questions
- Physical Science (Class IX and X Level): 15 questions
- Arithmetic (Class IX and X Level): 5 questions
- English Grammar: 10 questions
- General Knowledge: 5 questions
- Logical Reasoning: 5 questions
- Total: 65 questions
