Eligibility Criteria for IUST PhD Admission 2020

• Candidates having Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Clinical Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Molecular Medicine, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Immunology, Genetic Engineering and Genetics from a recognized University with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) shall be eligible for admission to Ph.D. in molecular medicine (OR);

• An equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.

• The certificate of equivalence issued by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) in such a case shall be required.

IUST PhD Admission 2020 Application Process

The candidates are advised to follow the below mentioned steps for filling the details in their Online Application Forms:

Step-1

Login to University Website www.islamicuniversity.edu.in and follow the link Admissions 2020.

Step-2

Read the instructions carefully and click on “Proceed” tab.

Step-3

Click the Programmes tab and select the desired Programme.

Step-4

Enter the required details very carefully, upload latest passport size photograph/ signature, Master’s Degree Marks Card, NET/SLET/SET/CSIR-JRF/ICMR-JRF certificate (if applicable).
Note: The photograph/certificates to be uploaded must be in image file format (.jpg, .jpeg, .png)

Step-5

Check all the details and status of uploaded documents once again and then click the “Submit” tab. On the successful submission of form, an Acknowledgement Message will be generated.

Step-6

Once the form is submitted choose the payment option for deposition of application fee of Rs. 500/- as:

Online

Proceed as per the fee instructions on the screen

Offline

Take a printout of the fee receipt and deposit the amount in any branch of J&K Bank Ltd.

Selection Procedure

• Candidates with JRF (UGC/CSIR/ICMR) shall be eligible for direct admission and shall appear for synopsis presentation before the DRC. However, if the number of applicants with JRF is more than the available vacancies, the selection among such applicants shall be made on the basis of their merit in the viva/presentation

• The entrance test to be conducted by the University having two components

• Research Methodology & Subject Specific with 40 questions from each component and viva voce having a weightage of 80 and 20 respectively

• For each vacancy three candidates shall be shortlisted (1:3) for viva/presentation from among the candidates who have qualified the written test (obtained 50% or above marks).
