IISER Berhampur Integrated PhD Admission 2021 – Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Berhampur invites applications from highly motivated students for admission to the Integrated PhD (iPhD) Program in Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical science and Physical Science from the citizens of India for the academic session commencing from August 2021

  • Star Online application :- April 28 2021
  • Last date for apply application :- 21st June 2021
  • Results of initial screening :- 25th June 2021 (tentatively)
  • Test/interview :- 01st ot 08th July 2021 (tentatively)

Eligibility Criteria for IISER Berhampur Integrated PhD Admission 2021

  • The candidate MUST have qualified at least ONE of the above-mentioned Additional eligibility criteria specific to a department. The scores/ranks must be valid at the time of admission.

For Biological Sciences

  • Students with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage with all subjects where an Honours system is not applicable) in Bachelor’s or any equivalent degree or
  • Students with 60% marks in the Honours/major subject in aggregate (where such a system is applicable) in Bachelor’s or any equivalent degree.
  • Subject area: Biological Sciences (All areas)/Environmental Sciences/ Mathematics/ Chemistry /Physics / Medical Sciences / Engineering.
  • If the scoring system follows a CGPI, the minimum score should be 6.0 on a 10-point scale.
  • JGEEBILS (conducted in Dec 2020) or JAM -2021 (BL – Biological Sciences or BT – Biotechnology)

For Chemical Sciences

  • Students with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage with all subjects where an Honours system is not applicable) in Bachelors or equivalent degree. or
  • 60% marks in the Honours/major subject in aggregate (where such a system is applicable) in Bachelors or equivalent degree.
  • Subjects/Area: Chemistry (All areas) /Mathematics/ Biological Sciences /Physics / Medical Sciences / Earth and Environmental Sciences/ Environmental Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
  • If the scoring system follows a CGPI, the minimum score should be 6.0 on a 10-point scale.
  • JAM (Chemistry) 2021

For Mathematical Sciences

  • Students with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage with all subjects where an Honours system is not applicable) in Bachelor’s or equivalent degree. or
  • 60% marks in the Honours/major subject only in aggregate (where such a system is applicable) in Mathematics /Statistics/ Mathematical Sciences (All areas) or any equivalent degree.
  • If the scoring system follows a CGPI, the minimum score should be 6.0 on a 10-point scale in BA/B.Sc/B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent satisfying one of the above criteria.
  • JAM 2021 (MA – Mathematics or MS-Mathematical Statistics) or
  • Valid NBHM PhD examination score.

For Physical Sciences

  • 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage with all subjects where an Honours system is not applicable) in Bachelor’s or equivalent degree. or
  • 60% marks in the honours/major subject in aggregate (where such a system is applicable) in Bachelor’s or equivalent degree.
  • If the scoring system follows a CGPI, the minimum score should be 6.0 on a 10-point scale
  • JAM (Physics) 2021 or JEST (Physics) 2021

IISER Berhampur Integrated PhD Admission 2021 Application process

  • Interested candidates can apply online only through the official website https://www.iiserbpr.ac.in/
  • Only online applications are accepted.

Fellowship

  • All students admitted to the programme will be entitled to fellowship for a maximum of seven years from the beginning of the programme. In the first two years, a student will be supported by an institute fellowship of Rs.12,000/- per month.
  • Following the first two years, a student will enter a Ph.D. programme which will be supported by an institute Ph.D. fellowship of Rs. 31,000/- and will be subject to all guidelines of the Ph.D. programme. The continuation of the fellowship is subject to the maintenance of minimum academic performance according to the programme policies.

Selection procedure

  • Applicants fulfilling the eligibility criteria as stated above will be further shortlisted.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test and/or interview.
