IIPS Mumbai Entrance Exam for Postgraduate Courses - MA, MSc MPhil Admission

International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai has announced notification for admission to 2 years full time Master of Arts (M.A) / Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Population Studies, 2 years M.Sc. in Bio-Statistics & Demography, 1 year Master of Philosophy (M. Phil) in Population Studies and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Population Studies for the during the academic year 2017-18.

IIPS Mumbai Admission 2017 Courses and Eligibility

Master of Arts/Science in Population Studies (M.A/M.Sc)

No. of Seats: 50 Seats with Govt. of India Fellowship

Eligibility: Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences including the subject of Mathematics/Statistics from a recognized university with at least 55% of aggregate marks or equivalent grade

The upper age limit is 25 years as on 30th June 2017. Marks and age are relaxable for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per GOI rules

Duration: Two years (Full-time)

Fellowship: Each selected Indian student will be awarded a Govt. of India fellowship Rs.5000/- per month

Selection Criteria: The selection will be made on the basis of a written test and personal interview. On the basis of a common entrance test and personal interview

Reservation: Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates will be considered as per the Govt. of India norms

Master of Science in Bio-Statistics and Demography

No. of Seats: 50 Seats with Govt. of India fellowship

Eligibility: Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree from recognized universities in India or abroad in core subject of Mathematics or Statistics or with atleast, two full papers of Mathematics or Statistics with a minimum of 55% of aggregate marks in all subjects

The upper age limit is 25 years as on 30th June 2017. Marks and age are relaxable for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per GOI rules

Duration: Two years (Full-time)

Fellowship: Each selected Indian student will be awarded a Govt. of India fellowship Rs.5000/- per month

Master of Philosophy in Population Studies

Eligibility: Candidates with a Master in Population Studies/M.A/M.Sc in Demography/ M.Sc in Bio-statistics and Epidemiology from a recognized university with at least 55% of aggregate marks or equivalent; the upper age limit is 25 years as on 30th June 2017

Duration: One year (Full-time)

Fellowship: Each selected Indian student will be awarded a Govt. of India fellowship Rs.6000/- per month

Selection Criteria: The selection will be made on the basis of a written test and personal interview. On the basis of a common entrance test and personal interview

Reservation: Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates will be considered as per the Govt. of India norms

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Population Studies

No. of Seats: 07 Seats with Govt. of India fellowship

Eligibility: Candidates with an M.Phil or Master's degree in Population Studies/M.Sc in Bio-Statistics and Epidemiology of a recognised university with atleast 55% of aggregate marks; the upper age limit is 30 years as on 30th June 2017

Duration: Four years

Selection Criteria: The selection will be made on the basis of a written test and personal interview. On the basis of a common entrance test and personal interview

Reservation: Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates will be considered as per the Govt. of India norms

Master of Population Studies (Distance Learning)

Eligibility: Candidates with a Master’s degree in any social science subject/Health/Maths/ Stats or allied subjects from recognized Indian/Foreign Universities

Duration: Two to four years

Fellowship/Sponsorship: N/A

Selection Criteria: The selection will be made on the basis of a written test and personal interview. On merit basis

Reservation: Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates will be considered as per the Govt. of India norms

Post Doctoral Fellowship

No. of Seats: 05 Seats with Govt. of India fellowship

Eligibility: Candidates with PhD degree from a recognized university, in Population Studies or any other allied subject wherein issues related to population, health and development has been dealt with. The upper age limit is 40 years as on 30th June 2017

Duration: One year

Fellowship: Each selected Indian student will be awarded a Govt. of India fellowship Rs.50,000/- per month

Selection Criteria: On the basis of submission of comprehensive research proposal and interview

Reservation: Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates will be considered as per the Govt. of India norms
**All the foreign students with the sponsorship will be selected without admission test and interview subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria
@ 05 Seats will be reserved for candidates with M.Sc in Bio-Statistics and Demography

Fees: Refer our website for course-wise fee schedule. Fees paid by a candidate upon selection who may opt to withdraw admission are refundable prior to commencement of the course as per the UGC norms

The completed application form along with necessary enclosures and a non-refundable processing fee of Rs.500/- (exempted for SC/ST and PH candidates) by demand draft, drawn from any nationalised bank in favour of the Director, IIPS, Mumbai should be sent to Assistant Registrar (academic)

Cash at the cash counter may also pay the processing fee and the cash receipt should be attached along with the completed application set

Application form and information can also be obtained from the Assistant Registrar (Academic), International Institute for Population Sciences, Deonar, Mumbai-400088 in person or by sending a self addressed Rs.50/- stamped envelope (25cm x 12cm)
