Delhi University UG Admission 2018 - Delhi University Undergraduate Courses Merit Based Admission 2018 - University of Delhi announces admissions to various undergraduate courses (merit based) for all colleges for the academic session 2018-19. The online registration will start from 15th May 2018 (06.00 PM)


DU UG Admission 2018-19

  • The Central University Offers admissions to various undergraduate programs through merit under the three-year UG Program structure.
  • Applicants seeking admission in different Colleges/Department/Centre of the University of Delhi (DU) in Undergraduate (UG) Programs/Courses, for which the admission is based on merit of XII Class Board results or through entrance test or through other specified provisos, are all required to register online on the following UG admission portal

Eligibility Criteria

  • Qualifying exams for the purpose of admission to the first year of undergraduate courses offered by the University shall be Senior Secondary School Certificate Exam(Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education or an exam recognized as equivalent thereto
  • Candidate seeking admission to the courses offered by the University should have passed the qualifying exam obtaining minimum marks as specified for each of the courses in subsequent sections

Age Requirement

  • There is no minimum age bar for admission to undergraduate courses in the University and its colleges except in professional courses where regulatory body prescribes minimum age requirement (such as MCI, AICTE etc) (Ordinance I)

Programs / Courses-wise-requirements
Arts/Social Sciences/Commerce

  • BA, BA (Vocational), B.Com: An aggregate of 40% marks in the qualifying examination
  • BA (Hons) / B.Com (Hons): An aggregate of 45% marks in the qualifying examination
  • B.A. (Hons) [Arabic, Hindi, Persian, Punjabi, Urdu, Sanskrit, and Bengali]: An aggregate of 45% marks in the qualifying examination. Candidates securing 40% marks taken together and 50% marks in the subject concerned are also eligible for admission to the relevant Honours Course
  • Note: For admission to an undergraduate program, where a particular subject or a group of subjects is required for admission, the applicants must have passed in the subject/each of the subjects concerned individually

Applied Social Sciences & Humanities [Hindi Patrakarita and Journalism]

  • B.A. (Hons.) Hindi Patrakarita: An aggregate of 45% marks and must have passed Hindi language in qualifying examination.Applicants securing 40% marks in the aggregate and 50% marks in Hindi language are also eligible for admission
  • B.A. (Hons.) Journalism: An aggregate of 45% marks and must have passed English language in qualifying examination
  • B.Voc. Program: B.Voc. Program has been designed by the UGC as per National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) of Ministry of Skill Development emphasizing on skill-based education in consultation with National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC)
  • B.Voc.- Printing Technology: An aggregate of 40% marks in 10+2 or equivalent examinations
  • B.Voc. -Web Designing: An aggregate of 40% marks in 10+2 or equivalent examinations
  • B.Voc. Health Care Mgt.: An aggregate of 40% marks in 10+2 or equivalent examinations
  • B.Voc. - Retail Mgt. & IT 5 Advance Diploma in TV Program& News Production: An aggregate of 40% marks in 10+2 or equivalent examinations
  • B.Voc. - Banking Operations: An aggregate of 40% marks in 10+2 or equivalent exams
  • B.Voc. - Software Development: An aggregate of 40% marks in 10+2 or equivalent exams
  • B.Com(Hons.): An aggregate of 45% marks in the qualifying examination
  • B.Com.: An aggregate of 40% marks in the qualifying examination

Notes:

  • The applicant must have studied and passed Mathematics/Business Mathematics at the qualifying exam for admission to B.Com. (Hons.)
  • The computation of Best Four subjects in the above framework should lead to an effective and unique Best Four which would be higher than any other combination of four subjects

Mathematical Sciences

  • B.Sc. Computer Science: Should have secured (a) 60% or more marks in Mathematics (b) 55% or more marks in aggregate of four subjects including Mathematics, one language and two other subjects listed as academic subjects by the respective Boards
  • B.Sc. Mathematics, Statistics: 50% marks in Mathematics and an aggregate of 45% marks in the qualifying exam

Science/Interdisciplinary & Applied Sciences
B.Sc. (Hons) [Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Anthropology]

  • For courses mentioned under serial number 1 to 4 the minimum eligibility condition is 55% or more marks in the aggregate of 3 subjects as mentioned in column 3 (Practical & Theory together)

B.Sc. (Hons) Biological Science

  • The overall percentage in three subjects in relevant column 3 and passing in one compulsory language (i.e. English)

Basis of Selection

  • Selection will be made on the basis of marks in the aggregate of 3 Science subjects as mentioned in column 3 for each Honours Course

B.Sc (Hons) [Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Instrumentation, Polymer Science]

  • The overall percentage in 3 subjects in relevant column 3 should be 55% and one compulsory language should be 50%

Basic of Selection
Selection will be made on the basis of marks in the aggregate of 3 Science subjects as mentioned in column 3 for each Honours Course
B.Sc (Hons) (Food Technology/Biochemistry)

  • 55% or more marks in the aggregate of 4 subjects as mentioned in column 3 (Practical & Theory together and Passing in one compulsory language (i.e. English). The overall percentage in 4 subjects in relevant column 3 should be 55% and one compulsory language should be 50%

B.Sc Physical Science/Applied Physical Science(s) and B.Sc Life Science/Applied Life Sciences:

  • 45% or more marks in the aggregate of 3 subjects as mentioned in column 3 (Practical & Theory together) and passing in one compulsory language (i.e. English). The overall percentage in 3 subjects in relevant column 3 should be 45% and one compulsory language should be 40%

Basic of Selection
Selection will be made on the basis of marks in the aggregate of 3 Science subjects as mentioned in column 2
Eligibility & Course requirement to Bachelor Degree with Honours in Music:

  • Candidates seeking admission to the Bachelor degree with Honours in; Hindustani Music- Vocal/Instrumental (Sitar / Sarod /Guitar / Violin/Santoor); Karnatak Music- Vocal/Instrumental (Veena / Violin) and Percussion Music (Tabla / Pakhawaj)
  • Candidate must have passed any one of the following examinations with 45% or more marks taken together with Music as one of the subjects

B.Sc. Home Science (Pass):

  • Aggregate of English and any 3 discipline Subjects from (LIST A, Annexure II) (except languages). It is essential to have cleared English

B.Sc.(Hons.)Home Science:

  • At least 50% marks in the aggregate of any three of the following subjects:At least one subject:Physics/Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology/ and other Subjects from (LIST A). (except languages)

B.Sc.(Hons.) Biomedical Science

  • An aggregate of at least 55% aggregate in Physics,Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology (PCB/BT) subjects. At least 50% marks in English (compulsory subject) Students having PCB/BT with Mathematics (at least 60% marks) will be given an advantage of 3% over and above their PCB/BT aggregate

 

Entrance-Based Programs/Courses

  • Minimum requirements for the students who have passed the qualifying exams and are seeking admission in regular colleges to various programs based on entrance exam are summarized below.

Faculty of Applied Social Sciences & Humanities
B.A. (Hons.) Business Economics, Bachelor in Mgt. Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis) (BBA(FIA)):

  • Aggregate of 60% marks in the qualifying examination based on a simple average of the percentage scored in four subjects: one language English, Mathematics and any two other subjects included in List A provided below

Basis of Selection

  • Selection will be based on the rank computed from the combined weighted average of percentage scored in the All India Joint Entrance Test and the percentage scored in the qualifying exam where the weights are: Entrance Test: 65%, Qualifying Exam: 35%
  • The percentage scored in the qualifying exam used for preparing the rank is calculated as the simple average of the percentage scored in the qualifying exam in four subjects: English, Mathematics and any two other subjects included in LIST A
  • The entrance exam will be of two hours duration based on Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) (four choices each) designed to evaluate the aptitude of the applicants

Reservations & Relaxations

  • The following reservations and relaxations are applicable for all programmes except B.Voc. Programs. The applicant must refer to Section 5.1.2.2 regarding reservations applicable for admission to B.Voc. Programs

SC/Tribe (ST) Applicants

  • 22½ % of the total numbers of seats is reserved for applicants belonging to SC/ST (15% for SC  7½% for ST, interchangeable, if necessary)
  • It is a statutory obligation on the part of Colleges to fill all seats reserved for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe applicants
  • The Colleges shall not refuse admission to any SC/ST Applicant on the basis of medium of instruction. Any deficiency in the knowledge of any particular language should be addressed; for this purpose, remedial classes may be arranged by the College by utilizing grants available from University Grants Commission
  • Relaxation to the extent of 5% in the minimum marks shall be given to the applicants belonging to SC/ST to determine their eligibility and merit for admission to the programme concerned

Note

  • SC/ST applicants, who get admission under open merit (unreserved) shall not be included in the reserved quota, i.e. 22.5% (15% for SC and 7.5% for ST)

 

Application Process

  • The University of Delhi has begun the registration procedure for DU Admission 2018 from 15th May 2018 (6:00 PM), for UG Programs. Registration and submission of online forms must be done in online mode only
  • Applicants seeking admission to UG merit-based programs/courses & UG entrance test based must register on a centralized admission Web Portal http://admission.du.ac.in, for which the details are given in this Bulletin

Online Registration

  • The admissions to various colleges of the University of Delhi are based either on merit or entrance. Applicants seeking admission to UG merit based programs/courses must register on a centralized admission Web Portal
  • Applicants seeking admission to UG entrance test based need to apply on a separate portal for which the registration will start from 15th May 2018

  • To Register online, an applicant must visit the following URL: https://ug.du.ac.in/app2k18/; the Undergraduate (merit based) Admission Portal of the University of Delhi is responsive (mobile/tab friendly). However, the webpage may appear different on different devices
  • The instructions given below are for the webpage as it appears on a desktop/laptop
  • As a first-time user, applicant shall go to "New Applicant Sign Up" to create the user account by clicking on the "New Registration" link
  • Foreign nationals are advised to contact Foreign Students’ Registry Office or visit https://ug.du.ac.in/app2k18/ to apply for admission in the University of Delhi

Registration Fee

Registration Fee (non-refundable) for UG Programs (Merit-based) is as follows:

  • Registration Fee for UR/OBC: Rs.150/- (Non-refundable)
  • Registration fee for SC/ST/PwD: Rs.75/- (Non-refundable)
  • Registration fee for Sports (Each Category): Rs.100/- (Additional, Non-refundable)
  • Registration fee for ECA (Each Category): Rs.100/- (Additional, Non-refundable)

Registration Fee (non-refundable) for UG Programs (Entrance-based) is as follows

  • Registration Fee for UR/OBC: Rs. 500/- (Non-refundable)
  • Registration fee for SC/ST/PwD: Rs.250/- (Non-refundable)

Payment of Registration Fee

  • Registration fee shall be payable at the time of online registration process through any one of the available online payment options
  • Please note that the online registration process shall only be completed only after realization of the online registration fee
  • Registration fee will not be refunded/adjusted/charged back in any circumstances

 

Important Dates

  • Starting Date for Online Registration: 15th May 2018
  • Closing Date for Online Registration: 07th June 2018
  • Notification of First Cut-off (Merit-based): 19th June 2018
  • Notification of First Allotment List (Entrance-based): To be announced

Third Cut-off

  • Notification of Third Cut-off Marks List by the Colleges: 30th June 2018
  • Document Verification and Approval of Admission: 30th June 2018 to 03rd July 2018

Fourth Cut-off

  • Notification of Fourth Cut-off Marks List by the Colleges (if any): 06th July 2018
  • Document verification and approval of Admission: 06th July 2018 to 09th July 2018

Fifth Cut-off
