RGIPT M.Tech & PhD Admission 2020 - Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) invites applications for admission to various M.Tech and PhD Program offered for Odd (July) Semester of the Academic Session 2020-21.

Eligibility Criteria for RGIPT M.Tech & PhD Admission 2020

For M Tech Programs:

A candidate may apply for any of the four categories of registration as described below, subject to the fulfillment eligibility criteria:

M Tech in Petroleum Engineering with specialization in Drilling Engineering or Production Engineering or Reservoir Engineering

B Tech or an equivalent degree in Petroleum Engg./Petroleum Technology/Chemical Engineering and allied areas with a valid GATE score in Petroleum Engineering/Chemical Engineering.

M Tech in Chemical Engineering with specialization in Petroleum Refinery Engineering or Biofuel-Bioenergy

B Tech or an equivalent degree in Chemical Engineering or Bio-Chemical Engineering /Electrochemical Engineering /Energy Engineering /Environmental Engineering /Petrochemical Engineering /Chemical Technology/Oil Technology with a valid GATE score in Chemical Engineering

For PhD Programs:

A candidate may apply for any of the four categories of registration subject to the fulfillment of requirements, minimum qualification and eligibility criteria.

PhD in Engineering

A minimum of 65% marks or 6.5 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the Master's degree level

A minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the Bachelor's degree level

Applicants with Master's degree in engineering in the discipline concerned or in an allied discipline must have a minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the Master's degree level.

Applicants with Bachelor's degree in engineering in the discipline concerned or in an allied discipline must have a minimum of 75% marks or 7.5 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the Bachelor's degree level. Applicant with more than two years of professional experience, the minimum requirement shall be 70% marks or 7.0 CPI (on 10 point scale) at Bachelor degree provided the degree is from an Institution funded by the Central Government.

Applicants with Master's degree in science as an allied discipline/area (where science is an allied discipline), must satisfy each.

PhD in Sciences

Applicants with Master's degree in science in the discipline concerned or in an allied discipline must have a minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the Master's degree level.

Applicants with four year Bachelor's degree in Science in the discipline concerned or in an allied discipline must have a minimum of 75% marks or 7.5 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the Bachelor's degree level. Applicant with more than two years of professional experience, the minimum requirement shall be 70% marks or 7.0 CPI (on 10 point scale) at Bachelor degree provided the degree is from an Institution funded by the Central Government.

PhD in Humanities

Applicants with Master's degree in Engineering with a minimum CPI of 6.00 on a 10.0 point scale (or 60% marks) in the qualifying degree.

Applicants with Master's degree in Humanities/Science or allied discipline with a minimum CPI of 6.00 on a 10.0 point scale (or 60% marks) in the qualifying degree.

Applicants with Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Sciences (4-Year program) with a minimum CPI of 7.50 on a 10.0 point scale (or 75% marks) in the Bachelor degree. Applicant with more than two years of professional experience, the minimum requirement shall be 70% marks or 7.0 CPI (on 10 point scale) at Bachelor degree provided the degree is from an Institution funded by the Central Government.

PhD in Management Studies

Applicants with Master's degree or equivalent in the management or in an allied discipline must have a minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the Master's degree level.

Applicants with Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or in an allied discipline must have a minimum of 75% marks or 7.5 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at the Bachelor's degree level. Applicant with more than two years of professional experience, the minimum requirement shall be 70% marks or 7.0 CPI (on a 10.0 point scale) at Bachelor degree provided the degree is from an Institution funded by the Central Government.

 

RGIPT M.Tech & PhD Admission 2020 Application Process

  1. Eligible candidates can apply online through official website https://rgipt.ac.in
  1. Admission Form should be submitted online before the last date as specified under Important Dates.
  1. Candidates are advised to keep the testimonials, certificates, work experience, research/professional experience etc. ready before beginning the process of filling the online application form.

 

Selection Process

M.Tech Program

For Full time regular category, candidates shortlisted on the basis of GATE Score which is valid and above the qualifying pass mark, may be selected for M Tech programmes either on the basis of their GATE score or written test or interview or on the basis of any combination of these as declared by the individual department.

The non-GATE candidates have to qualify the written test and the Interview for selection into M Tech programmes at Bengaluru PG centre.

For admission under other categories, candidates are exempted from appearing in the written test.

PhD Program

Admission will be based on a written test and interview of the candidates shortlisted by the Department/School concerned.
