Punjab Agricultural University Admissions 2019 - Punjab Agricultural University invites applications from interested candidates for admission into B.Sc, B.Tech and PhD programmes for the year 2019.

 

College of Agriculture

Eligibility Criteria and intake:

Entrance Test Based Courses: CET, AAT

  1. B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture 4 years: 94 seats: CET

10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology/ agriculture with at least 50% marks in aggregate/ Two year Diploma in Agriculture.

  1. B.Tech (Biotechnology) 4 years: 60 seats: CET
  • 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology/ agriculture with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
  1. B.Tech (Food Technology) 4 years: 60 seats: CET
  • 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology/ Agriculture with at least 50% marks in aggregate/ Certificate course in Food Processing and Preservation from SLIET, Longowal.
  1. B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture 2+4 year at Institute of Agriculture, Bathinda and Gurdaspur: 120 Seats: AAT
  • Matriculation or equivalent with at least 65% marks in aggregate in compulsory subjects.

Non Entrance Test Based Diploma courses:

  • Diploma in Agriculture 2 year at PAU, Ludhiana: 60 seats: Matric
  • Diploma in Agriculture 2 year at Dr D R Bhumbla Regional Research Station, Ballowal Saunkhri: 30 seats: Matric
  • Diploma in Agriculture 2 year at Regional Research Station, Faridkot: 30 seats: Matric
  • Diploma Course in Hybrid Seed Production Technology (two semesters): 40 seats: Matric

Master’s Programme: The minimum qualifications for admission to Masters’ programme (other than in service candidates) shall be an OCPA of 6.00 or 60% marks or equivalent at the graduation level as shown against respective discipline (s).

  • Extension Education: 10 seats: B.Sc. Agri./B.Sc. Agri. (Hons)/ B.Sc. Forestry/ B.Sc. Hort./B. Tech. Food Tech.
  • Food Technology: 18 seats: B.Sc. Agri./B.Sc. Agri. (Hons)/ B. Tech. Food Technology/ B.Sc. Food Science (4-year) and/or Food Technology/B.Sc. Home Science (4-year) with elective in Foods & Nutrition.
  • Plant Breeding & Genetics: 24 seats: B.Sc. Agri./B.Sc. Agri. (Hons)/ B.Sc. Biotech. (Hons) 4 - year/ B.Sc. Forestry/ B.Sc. Hort.

  • All candidates have to appear for MET-Agri. Exam for above Master’s Program
  • Each candidate applying for MET Agri can appear for maximum two disciplines of the programme including Agricultural Economics with an extra fee of Rs. 550/- for the 2nd discipline. If seat(s) in any of the programme remain(s) vacant after exhausting the list of eligible candidates for that programme then the same will be filled through the merit of Part A of the entrance paper.

Selection Process for Punjab Agricultural University Admissions 2019

  • The Punjab Agriculture University offers all the candidates willing to take admission to various courses that are listed below. Also, there are three different examinations conducted by the University for Admission to these courses.

Exam Pattern:

The test will have 100 MCQ and there will be 4 sections as follows:

  • Agriculture Aptitude: It will consist of 50 questions
  • General Science: It will consist of 30 questions
  • General English: It will consist of 10 questions
  • Mathematics: It will consist of 10 questions
