CSIR-IIP invites applications for PhD Program under the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) in Chemical Science, Biological Science and Chemical Engineering from eligible candidates, for the January 2018 Session

Eligibility

PhD Program in Chemical Sciences , Biological Science and Chemical Engineering, under Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), fulfilling the following eligibility criteria:

For PhD in Chemical Science: Master's degree with a keen sense of scientific enquiry for pursuing advanced research in frontier areas of chemical Sciences. The candidate should be having a valid National level fellowship (JRF/SRF of various funding agencies, e.g. CSIR, UGC, DBT, DST etc.), INSPIRE or other equivalent fellowships

For PhD in Biological Science: Master's degree with a keen sense of scientific enquiry for pursuing advanced research in frontier areas of Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Life sciences Or related Biological Science. The candidate should be having a valid National level fellowship (JRF/ SRF of various funding agencies, e.g. CSIR, UGC etc.), or INSPIRE or other equivalent fellowships

PhD in Chemical Engineering: (a) Candidates with a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering having a good academic record and valid UGC/CSIR-JRF/ SRF or equivalent fellowship can apply o;r  Candidates having following qualifications are eligible to apply:

B.E. / B. Tech with CGPA 8.5 * + valid GATE / NET (Eng) (Rank <2000)

Applicants qualifying their degree in percentage shall use the formula, CGPA= (Percentage + 5) /10. Applicants with percentage ≥ 95% shall fill 10 CGPA. Project Assistants, Senior Research Fellows and CSIR Scientists are also eligible to apply

 

Selection Procedure

Shortlisted candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria will be called for test and / or interview; based on the academic record and performance of the candidates in the test and /or interview, the committee recommends names of the selected candidates for the PhD Program

Final list of selected candidates for PhD program will be announced on this webpage and AcSIR webpage. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the screening test and/or interview or at the time of joining
