Azim Premji University, Bangalore has released an admission notification, inviting interested, eligible candidates to apply for its three-year full-time Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) offered in Physics or Biology, Economics, Humanities and one-year Master of Laws (LL.M) in Law and Development for the commencing academic year 2017.

Education - The Master of Arts (M.A.) Education Programme at Azim Premji University is a broad-based Programme of Study that includes theory, practice, research, policy and planning in education

Development - The Master of Arts (M.A.) Development Programme at Azim Premji University aims to prepair individuals capable of informed and thoughtful development action, aware of the complexity, depth and scope of the discourse of development, its ethical imperatives and its implications for policy and action

Public Policy and Governance - The Master of Arts in Public Policy and Governance (MPG) will prepare students to critically analyse public policy problems, programs and policies; identify and frame governance problems; provide purposive programmatic solutions, and undertake critical and impactful governance research

LL.M. in Law and Development - The LL.M. in Law and Development will be a research and field intensive post-graduate programme in law. The programme includes mandatory courses on Law and Development, Law and Justice, Comparative Public Law and Legal Research Methods

Masters Programmes in Specializations:

Master of Arts in Education: (i) Curriculum and Pedagogy; Early Childhood Education; School Organization, Leadership and Management; Teacher Professional Development; (ii) Master of Arts in Development: Public Health; Law, Governance and Policy; Livelihoods; Sustainability; and (iii) Master of Arts in Public Policy and Governance: Specialization being planned
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum eligibility conditions for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programme at Azim Premji University:

For Undergraduate Programme: Candidates should have acquired class 12th or pre university certificate from any recognized board of India or its equivalent international certificate. Candidates those are appearing in final year exam by June 2017 can also apply
Those have completed class 12th or pre board exam in the year 2016 are also permitted to apply. Candidates should have obtained minimum 50% marks in class 12th
Age - Should not be older than 19 years

For Postgraduate Programme: Master of Arts in Education/ Master of Arts in Development/ Master of Arts in Public Policy and Governance
Candidates should hold graduation degree in any discipline such as Social Sciences, Physical Sciences, Engineering, Humanities, Agriculture, Medicine, Commerce, Environmental Sciences, Management, etc. from a recognized university
Aspirants who are appearing in final year exam and completing graduation on or before September, 2017 can apply
Candidates having relevant work experience will be given more preference

For LL.M. in Law and Development: Bachelor’s degree in Law i.e. 3 years or 5 years LLB from a recognized university either from India or Abroad. Candidates having wok experience in relevant filed are advised to apply

Selection Criteria

Selection of undergraduate and postgraduate programs will be on the basis of a common entrance test usually held in Jan/ Feb and interview conducted by the university

For LLM Programme: Selection will be based on the National Entrance Test followed by an interview

National Entrance Test:
The selection process for the Postgraduate Programme includes an entrance test and a personal interview

National Entrance Test: Applicants will have to appear for a written test that will assess the Reading Comprehension, Reasoning and General and Social Awareness
The test will be conducted on 22 Jan 2017

Personal Interview: Applicants shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the entrance test will be called for a personal interview
These interviews will be conducted during Feb-Mar 2017

How to Apply for Azim Premji University Admission 2017

Candidates can apply online or download the application form from the university website
Candidates have to pay an application fee of Rs.200/- for UG programs and Rs.250/- for PG Programmes in the form of Demand Draft in favour of "Azim Premji Foundation for Development". The completed application form should be mailed to "Admissions Office, Azim Premji University, PES Campus, Pixel Park, B Block, Electronics City, Hosur Road, Bengaluru-560100"
On receipt of the application and payment, the application number will be communicated
Offline Application Form for Postgraduate Programme and Undergraduate Programme will be available from Mid of October 2016
