ISEC Bengaluru PhD Admission 2020 – The Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC) Bengaluru announces admissions to PhD Program Full-Time (Residential) for students; Part Time (Non-Residential) for academicians and interested scholars for the session 2020. Application for the same can be submitted on or before June 15, 2020.

Development Studies

Decentralization and Development/ Panchayats/Local Governance and Development / Environment economics /Rural Development /Geography /Public Administration / Urban Economics / Urban Planning/Public Policy preferably with specialization in Urban Studies / Economics and Sociology of Education / Statistics / Public health /Ecology and Environmental Science

Population Studies

The students once admitted will receive Ph.D. in Population Studies

(a) Economics

Applied Econometrics/Micro and Macro Economics/International Economics/Public Economics/ Energy Economics/ Development Economics/Natural Resource Economics

(b) Agricultural Economics

The students once admitted will receive Ph.D. in Economics

Political Science

The students once admitted will receive Ph.D. in Political Science

Sociology

PhD Category

ISEC offers two categories of PhD Programme

(a)

Full time (residential) for students and

(b)

Part-time (non-residential) for those already in service

The hallmark of our PhD Programme is its bi-annual seminars and doctoral committees. Doctoral Committee meets periodically and provides inputs to the Ph.D. Students besides monitoring progress of their thesis work

All Ph.D. students have to compulsorily abide by ISEC Ph.D. Rules as applicable

 

Eligibility Criteria for ISEC Bengaluru PhD Admission 2020

Development Studies

Master’s Degree in any discipline

Population Studies

Master’s Degree in Demography/Population Studies or have Master’s degree in other discipline with strong Demography Courses

Economics

Master’s Degree in Economics/ Econometrics/Public Economics /Energy Economics / Development Economics / Natural resource Economics/ Environmental Economics / Financial Economics /Applied Economics / Quantitative Economics / Statistics

Agricultural Economics

Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics or with Master’s Degree in Economics including courses undergone in Agricultural Economics/Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation/Agri-Business Management

Political Science

Master’s Degree in Political Science/International Relations/Public Administration

Sociology

Master’s Degree in Sociology/Anthropology (Social Anthropology) /Social Work

 

Fellowship

Candidates who have passed UGC JRF are paid the fellowship as per the UGC norms, upon receipt of fellowship grant from UGC

ICSSR/ISEC Fellowship

Rs.10000/- p.m. without any contingency

Two Years

Rs.20,000/- pm

Fourth Year

Rs. 10000/- p.m. from internal sources without any contingency

 

ISEC Bengaluru PhD Admission 2020 Application Process

i.

The prescribed application form can be downloaded (only on A4 size paper) from the ISEC Website http://www.isec.ac.in/phd-advt-2020.htm

ii.

The duly filled-in application form with all the relevant enclosures should be submitted along with the application fee in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, ISEC, Bangalore, payable at State Bank of India, ISEC Branch, Bangalore-72

iii.

Candidates who are awaiting their second year PG results may also apply

 

Selection Process for ISEC Bengaluru PhD Admission 2020

i.

Preliminary screening of applications is done based on the minimum educational qualification

ii.

Students need to submit a proposal in the related area of their interest in which they want to pursue their PhD.

iii.

The short-listed candidates will be called for a written test to be held on July 15, 2020

iv.

The test will be conducted by the respective centres in the respective disciplines wherever applicable

v.

Those candidates who are called for written test/interview will be paid ‘to and fro’ sleeper class train fare through shortest route or bus fare by ordinary class as applicable

vii.

No boarding & lodging charges will be reimbursed to the candidates.

viii.

Normal reservation rules for educational institutions are followed by ISEC
