M.Sc Admission-2012

Admission through entrance test for seats available in M.Sc Microbiology at HPU campus and its affiliated institute and M.Sc Biotechnology at institutions affiliated to HPU only

M.Sc Biotechnology (2 years): Bachelor degree under 10+2+3 pattern in Science in Physical, Biological, Agricultural, Veterinary and Fisheries Sciences, Pharmacy Engineering/Technology, 4 years B.S. (Physician Assistant Course) on Medicine (MBBS) or BDS with at least 55% marks for general and other category and 50% for SC/ST category candidates

M.Sc Microbiology (2 years): Bachelor degree under 10+2+3 pattern in Science with any of the subjects; Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Botany or Zoology or MBBS/B.V.Sc with at least 50% marks for general and other category and 45% for SC/ST category candidates

Age (as on 01st July, 2012): Male (not more than 26 years), Female (not more than 28 years), SC/ST (not more than 29 years)

The candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination but whose results have so far not been declared can also apply but their eligibility for the entrance test and admission will be purely provisional subject to the condition that they have to produce passing certificate scoring the percentage at least prescribed thereto in the qualifying exams during the day of counseling

Procedure for Prospectus: The prospectus containing details and prescribed application form will be available from O/o Chairman, Department of Biotechnology, H.P. University, Shimla from 25th April, 2012 on cash payment of Rs 1500/- only for general category and Rs 750/- only for SC/ST category

A copy of the prospectus can also be obtained through registered post by remitting Rs 1600/- only for general category and Rs 850/- only for SC/ST candidates through a demand draft drawn in favor of Coordinator (Microbiology Program), Department of Biotechnology, H.P. University, Shimla

Money orders will not be accepted

The request for supply of prospectus by post be addressed to Coordinator (Microbiology Program), Department of Biotechnology, H.P. University, Shimla-171005

The last date for submission of duly filled complete application form in the Department of Biotechnology, Himachal Pradesh University is 10th May, 2012, 04.00 p.m.
