Ans. Aunt Jennifer is a timid and submissive woman trapped in a male-dominated society. She is trapped under the power of her husband, who oppresses her as expected in a patriarchal society. The weight of her wedding band portrayed the expectations and demands put on her due to her marriage and how he holds no rights, opinions, or power over her wishes and decisions. She lacks confidence and the ability to stand up for herself. Aunt Jennifer embroidered ferocious tigers in the screen. The tigers were depicted to be running wild and free in an open field. They symbolised freedom, fearlessness, courage, and dominance. If a tiger were in her place, her husband wouldn’t have been able to oppress her.
