About us: The Xavier institute of social science (XISS) was established as an extension department of St. Xavier college, Ranchi, in 1955 with the objective of training young men and women in rural development, personnel management and industrial relations. In 1973 the institute was registered as a separate educational society under the societies

Vision: Since its inception, XISS has pioneered as an institution for service and centre for academic excellence. XISS also visualized itself as a centre of education, and catering to its diverse clientele and stakeholders

Mission: Xavier institute of social service (XISS) has an earnest mission of developing human resources for various sectors such as industries, business, rural development, healthcare etc in the Chotanagpur region. One of the prime objectives of the institute is to develop professionals who are down to earth, having deep concern for fellow human beings and sense of responsibility towards society
