WBJEE 2024 – West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination or the WBJEE is a state-government controlled centralised test, conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board for admission to many private and government engineering institutions in West Bengal.
West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) conducts the WBJEE every year in pen and paper based mode.
The WBJEE is a gateway for candidates to get admission into various Engineering colleges in West Bengal. WBJEE Eligibility Criteria 2024
All candidates who wish to appear in the exam have to meet the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of WBJEE:
WBJEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria – Nationality
Candidates who wish to apply for WBJEE must be a citizen of India.
WBJEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria – Age
Candidates who wish to apply for the WBJEE entrance test must be 17 years of age.
There is no upper age limit. However, for Marine Engineering, the upper age limit is 25 years.
WBJEE Eligibility Criteria 2024 – Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed/appeared in 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and any of the following subjects – Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Computer Application or Technical Vocational subject.
WBJEE Eligibility Criteria – Required Marks
All the aspiring candidates must have obtained 45 per cent marks in the above-mentioned subjects, whereas candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD) are required to obtain 40% marks in order to appear for the entrance exam.
WBJEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria – Domicile
- Apart from the mentioned criteria, candidates who have been a resident of West Bengal for 10 consecutive years as on December 31, 2023, will get domicile provisions.
- Also, in case the parents of the candidates are permanent residents of West Bengal with a permanent residential address in the state, domicile eligibility will also be given to the candidates.
WBJEE 2024 Application Process
To appear for the exam, candidates must first register on the official WBJEE website. The authorities will activate the WBJEE registration window tentatively by December 2023.
The following five steps would allow the aspirants to fill their WBJEE application form 2024 with ease successfully:
1st Step: Registration
Candidates should visit the WBJEEB official website at wbjeeb.nic.in and click on “New Registration” and register themselves by providing the necessary details.
2nd Step: Fill Up The WBJEE Application Form
After successful WBJEE registration, click on the online Application for WBJEE 2024 tab. Go through the mentioned details to fill in the application form below:

4th Step: Pay Examination Fee
Pay Rs. 500 plus the Bank service charge as examination fees, which can be paid online (cashless). Find the WBJEE form fee for registering under the WBJEE 2024 as under:

WBJEE Application Form Correction 2024
Candidates are supposed to fill the form very carefully to avoid making mistakes. However, WBJEEB is expected to open WBJEE 2024 Form Correction window in the 4th week of January, 2024 and any committed mistakes can be rectified then. In this period, candidates can edit certain fields of their application form.
- It is not possible to correct any primary registration data like Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Gender, Domicile and Date of Birth.
- If any information other than name, father’s name, mother’s name, gender, domicile and date of birth given in the application needs to be corrected, the rectification may be done by the candidate only within the notified ‘Correction Period’. The Board will not make or allow any correction thereafter.
- Candidates will be asked to pay a Form Correction Fee.
WBJEE 2024 Exam Pattern
WBJEE aspirants will be assessed in Mathematics, Physics, and chemistry. Please note that there will be three categories of questions for each subject.
- Category 1 questions will be of 1 mark
- Category 2 questions will be of 2 marks
- Category 3 questions will be of 2 marks

WBJEE 2024 Marking Scheme
- Candidates appearing for WBJEE 2024 should be aware of the fact that 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer for questions belonging to categories 1 and 2.
- Only one option is correct in Category 1 and 2 types of questions; however, in Category 3, one or more options can be correct.
- There will not be any negative marks for wrong answers to questions from Category 3.

WBJEE 2024 Admit Card
Candidates who registered for the WBJEE 2024 can download their WBJEE admit card from the official website, i.e., wbjeeb.nic.in. The Board will release the WBJEE admit card in April, 2024(Tentative). Candidates who successfully submitted the WBJEE 2024 application form can download their WBJEE hall ticket 2024 from the official website to attend their exam.
All the candidates have to carry a hard copy of the WBJEE 2024 admit card when appearing for the WBJEE exam 2024. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to appear for the exam. WBJEE 2024 Answer Key
WBJEEB will tentatively release the provisional WBJEE answer key in May 2024 on their official website. Candidates who found discrepancies with the preliminary answer key could challenge the provisional answer key by paying a fee of INR 500 until May 2024 (Tentative).
The board has made the necessary changes in the answer key after evaluating the challenges submitted by the candidates. After the detailed analysis, the WBJEEB authorities uploads the final answer key on the official website. Candidates can download the answer key from the official website using their Application numbers and dates of birth or Application numbers and passwords.
WBJEE 2024 Result
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board will release the WBJEE result for 2024 via the official website in May, 2024 tentatively. Candidates can download their scorecards using their WBJEE Application number and password.
A General Merit Rank (GMR) will be released by WBJEE Board, and accordingly, students will be called for WBJEE counselling. In counselling, candidates will be allocated seats based on merit, preference, and availability.
WBJEE 2024 Cutoff
WBJEE is a gateway for admission into various B.E/B.Tech. programmes in the state of West Bengal. West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) will release the WBJEE cut-off scores after successive counselling sessions.
Candidates must meet the WBJEE admission cut-offs specified by the particular institute to be eligible for counselling and secure admissions to the desired courses.

WBJEE 2024 Counselling
WBJEE Counselling 2024: The WBJEEB will probably start the counselling registration in July, 2024. Candidates participating in the counselling process must go through registration, choice filling, seat allotment, reporting to the allotted colleges and various other steps. The seats will be allotted based on the rank obtained by candidates in the rank list.
This should be noted that the WBJEE counselling is usually conducted in two phases this year: Phase 1 is for the candidates who want to be admitted into the engineering courses, and Phase 2 is for the agriculture and pharmacy courses.
- WBJEE admissions will be made based on the GMR/ PMR rank.
- Online registration is only allowed once in the first round of counselling.
- No fresh registration is allowed in the second and third rounds of counselling.
- Seats in the first round are allocated on the basis of candidates’ rank, preferred choices and seat availability.
- For the remaining rounds, seats are allocated based on the vacant seats as per the previous round.
- After the counselling and admission procedure is completed, no duplicate Rank card is generated.

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) conducts WBJEE to fill undergraduate engineering seats in colleges of West Bengal. The examination board is yet to issue the exam date notice, i.e., when WBJEE 2024 exam will be conducted; however, it is expected that it will be conducted in April 2024.
