EAMCET 2019 – As per the report of Telangana Today the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has made the announcement that admissions for Engineering, Agriculture and Medical courses in universities, and constituent and private colleges will continued to be conducted through Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) only for the academic year 2019. As the students were confused after All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) proposed to conduct a single entrance examination pan India, conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for engineering admissions
Ever since the proposal was announced by AICTE, several states objected for the reason that states would lose their autonomy over admissions and on the other hand, students would still have to appear for multiple examinations because single engineering test would not cover all national institutes, including Indian Institutes of Technology, National Institutes of Technology, Indian Institutes of Information Technology and Centrally Funded Technical Institutions admissions. Students would have to appear separately for the Joint Entrance Examination- Main and Advanced for admissions into these institutes.

As per the Telangana Today, a senior TSCHE official told that, the Council would continue to conduct EAMCET for admissions into UG engineering courses in the State for the next academic year, and students would not have to worry about another test by NTA. Like every year, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad will hold the examination and soon, TSCHE will announce the examination dates
EAMCET 2018 was successfully conducted in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode for the first time for the engineering entrance test. The total of 1, 47,958 candidates registered, of which 1, 36,305 appeared and 1,06,646 has qualified the exam.
Similarly in Agriculture & Medical (AM) stream, 73,106 aspirants applied for the test and 66,858 appeared for the entrance test. 60,651 candidates cleared it.
For the academic year 2019 admissions, the Council will conduct EAMCET 2019 exam in CBT mode only.
