PUBDET 2024 – West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) will conduct OMR based common entrance test (PUBDET-2024) for admission to Undergraduate Courses in three-year B.A./B.Sc. (Major/Honours) courses in the Presidency University for the academic session of 2024-25. Presidency University, Kolkata (formerly Presidency College, Kolkata) is a Public State University. The institution was elevated to university status in 2010 after functioning as a constituent college of the University of Calcutta for about 193 years. It is rank among the top universities in India.

PUBDET 2024 Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be passed out from schools in India affiliated to the International Board in compliance with Sec. 3.2 (c)/National or State level examination Board or Council.
- Candidates must have passed (not before 2023) OR appeared (in 2024) in the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2 system) conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any equivalent examination.
- Candidates must pass any of the aforementioned examinations, with at least five recognized subjects (full marks not less than 100) of which English will be one subject and excluding Compulsory Environmental Science. The aggregate is to be calculated considering scores in the best four recognized subjects excluding Compulsory Environmental Science.
- Candidates with International ‘A’ level or International Baccalaureate qualifications must have at least three subjects at the IGCSE level and three subjects at the ‘A’ level, with English in either of the two levels.
- Aggregate is to be calculated considering the best four subjects considering both the levels.
- The candidate must fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria as per the following table in his/her qualifying examination in 12th standard. SC/ST, OBC-A/OBC-B and PwD candidates will get 25%, 10% and 5% relaxation in required minimum aggregate score in 12th standard respectively.
PUBDET 2024 Application Process
- Application for the examination must be done online only. No printed application form is available.
- Ensure filling genuine application form available online only at www.wbjeeb.nic.in
- It is essential to have a valid mobile number and a unique valid email ID. All future communications by the Board will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID. WBJEEB will not be held responsible for non-receipt of any communication due to wrong/nonexisting/non-functional/changed mobile number/ email ID or due to network interruption.
Procedure for submission of application form, payment of examination fees
Registration
- The candidate will enter personal details such as, name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, gender, identification type and number, present and permanent address, mobile number, email ID etc.
- Candidates must be careful while entering their name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, gender and domicile. This information cannot be changed/edited/modified under any circumstances.
- Then the candidate has to create a password, review and submit the registration.
- An application number will be generated and will appear on the screen. Also, an SMS/email will be sent to the registered Mobile No./ Mail-id of the candidate(s).
- Candidates must remember his/her application number and password. If the candidate forgets the password, they have to recover it through the “Forgot Password” option. There is no other way to recover the password.
- No person/agency can change/edit/input any information without knowing the password. Hence, candidates must not share their password with anybody. The Board will not be responsible for any changes resulting from sharing/ divulging of the password.
Filling of Application Form
- At this stage, the candidate needs to fill out various other information such as, domicile, category, PWD status, family income status, religion, nationality, academic details etc.
- Thereafter the candidate needs to choose any 2 (two) zones of examinations in order of his/her choice and submit the application.
Uploading of images
- The candidate is required to upload JPG/JPEG images of his/her recent color photograph (10 to 200 KB) and signature (4 to 30 KB).
- Photo and Signature of candidate are to be uploaded in one go.
Payment of Examination Fees
- The Examination Fees can be paid by Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card/UPI/QR Code only.
- Application fees for PUBDET-2024 is ₹500 (Rupees five hundred only) for one paper and ₹250 for each additional paper, plus the Bank’s Service Charges, if any.
- The fee once paid is not refundable under any circumstances
Confirmation Page
- On successful completion of all the above steps, candidates shall be directed to download the ‘Confirmation Page’ which means that the application is complete. APPLICATION IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL THE CONFIRMATION PAGE IS GENERATED.
Pattern of Question Papers
- In every paper, all questions will be of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type, with four answer options.
- There will be 50 (fifty) questions in each paper with full marks 100 and the duration of the test will be 90 minutes.
Scoring Methodology
- All questions will have four answer options.
- Only one option is correct.
- Correct response will yield 2 (two) marks.
- Incorrect response will yield -1/2 (25% negative) marks.
- For any combination of response with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -1/2 (25% negative) marks
- No response will yield zero mark.
Syllabus of Test
- The tests will be based on the syllabi of 11th and 12th standard of recognised boards/councils.
