Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya was started by the Government of India in accordance with the National Policy of Education (1986). JNVs are spread across 28 states and 07 Union Territories of India. They are co-educational residential schools financed and administered by the Government of India through an autonomous organization, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS).
Admission to Class VI and IX is done on the basis of the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST). For class XI, candidates are selected on the basis of merit of class X board examinations.
For admission to Class VI, JNVST is scheduled on January 11, 2020 and April 11, 2020. JNVST for Class IX (Lateral Entry) is on February 08, 2020.

Admission to Navodaya Vidyalaya for Class VI and IX is done on the basis of the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST).
Admission to class XI is done on the basis of the performance of students in Class X Board Examinations by recognized boards.
NVS also conducts admission for Class IX and XI through Lateral Entry based on vacant seats.
After the exam, the result will be uploaded on the official website of NVS respectively.

On 11 January 2020, the JNVST will be held at 11:30 am in States of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh (except Dibang Valley & Tawang Districts), Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh (except Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti and Shimla Districts), Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tripura, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, & West Bengal (except Darjeeling), Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadar & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Delhi, Lakshadweep and Pudducherry.
On 11 April 2020, the JNVST will be held at 11:30 am in States of Jammu and Kashmir, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Uttrakhand and in the Districts of Dibang Valley and Tawang of Arunachal Pradesh, in the Districts of Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi, Sirmour, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti and Shimla of Himachal Pradesh, in the District of Darjeeling of West Bengal.

2.Click on the Admission tab and then on Admission Notifications.
3.Click on the notification link for Online Application Form.
4.A new registration link will open.
5.Register and then log in using Registration No. and Password.
6.Pay the application fees and download the filled final application form.
Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has revised its fees with effect from 1.4.2018. Earlier the fees of NVS was INR 200 where students from SC/ST Category, Girl Students and boys from BPL families were exempted. However, after enhanced fees, the fees increased to INR 600 per month but students from SC/ST Category, Girl Students and boys from BPL families are exempted from paying the fees. For students whose parents are Govt. Employees, they need to pay INR 1500 per month.

In order to ace the entrance exam conducted by NVS, students need to prepare well from the syllabus given below for Class VI and IX, respectively.
For class VI, the paper will consist of three sections:
Section 1: Mental Ability Test

Section 3: Language Test
For Class IX, students need to prepare from four subjects – Mathematics, Hindi, English and General Science.
