CUET (ICAR-UG) 2024 – The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) invites online application for Admission to Bachelor Degree Programs in Agriculture and Allied Sciences (other than Veterinary Sciences), at Agricultural Universities for the academic session 2024-25 through CUET (ICAR-UG) 2024 

 

About CUET (ICAR-UG)-2024

  • In 2024-25, All India Entrance Examination for Admission, CUET (ICAR-UG) shall be conducted for admission to Bachelor Degree Programs in Agriculture & Allied Sciences (other than Veterinary Sciences), at Agricultural Universities on 20% of the University seats [100% seats in RLBCAU, Jhansi; Dr. RPCAU Pusa, Bihar; ICAR-NDRI, Karnal; ICAR-IARI, New Delhi and its Hubs.

 

Degree Programs offered

  • During academic session 2024-25, admission to 12 Bachelor degree programs of four years duration is available to Indian Nationals based on the merit-rank in CUET (ICAR-UG)-2024
  • Candidates may note that all Undergraduate Degrees in the disciplines of Agricultural Sciences have been declared as professional degrees and are detailed as under:

  • Tentative number of seats available for admission through CUET (ICAR-UG)-2024 in 12 different disciplines/programs of relevant Agricultural Universities under ICAR-AU system for the academic session 2024-25 is given at Annexure I
  • During the academic year 2023-24, total number of ICAR AIQ seats available for admission in 12 different Bachelor Degree Programs was 5221.

CUET (ICAR-UG)-2024 Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor Degree in Agriculture and Allied Sciences: B.F.Sc. Bachelor of Fisheries Sciences, B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture, B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry, B.Sc. (Hons.) Natural Farming, B.Sc. (Hons.) Sericulture, B.Sc. (Hons.) Community Science, B.Sc. (Hons) Food Nutrition and Dietetics, B. Tech. Agricultural Engineering, B. Tech. Dairy Technology, B. Tech. Food Technology, B. Tech. Biotechnology]

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination (12th standard) with at least three subjects out of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and Agriculture/Inter-Agriculture as core courses.
  • Candidate(s) who appear in subject(s) different from the one which s(he) passed in 12th standard will not be considered for counselling / admission and will stand rejected.
  • The candidates must attempt only those subjects (at least 3 subjects) in the examination as per the choice given in the Application Form. Therefore, they must exercise the choice of subjects very carefully. Attempting subjects different than choices given in the application form will invite disqualification from the counselling / admission process.
  • Many admitting universities have special conditions (like upper age limit, mandatory subject eligibility for a specific program, gender specific preference, etc.) for admission as per respective university statute. It will be the responsibility of the candidate(s) to inquire about such special conditions from the University of his/her interest before filling up the online application form for CUET (ICAR-UG) 2024.

Qualifying Examination at 10+2 Level

  • In order to appear in CUET (ICAR-UG)-2024, Indian national candidates should have passed 10+2 Senior Secondary Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education or any other examination within scope and standard found to be equivalent to the Senior Secondary Examination of a recognized Indian Board / University (Annexure II), with minimum prescribed marks/grade, after a period of 12 years of study. Candidate(s) who have obtained any diploma or vocational course after matriculation will not be eligible. The medium of instruction in the admitting University will be English.
  • Candidates should have passed the qualifying examinations enumerated above securing not less than 50% marks in aggregate for General, OBC (NCL), UPS, EWS categories and 40% marks in aggregate for SC, ST, Third Gender, PwBD categories. There will be no rounding-off of the OGPA/percentage of marks of qualifying examination while deciding the basic eligibility of any candidate for admission e.g. if a candidate obtained 49.99% marks in his/her qualifying examination, then it will not be rounded-off to 50%.
  • Candidates having a compartment/supplementary in any of the subjects will not be eligible unless proof of having cleared the examination with requisite percentage as above is available.
  • Candidates who have already appeared in the qualifying examination enumerated above, can also apply but would be required to submit evidence of having satisfied the conditions latest at the time of counseling in the allotted university.
  • Candidates must ensure that he/she fulfills the eligibility requirements for the examination as well as admission as detailed in the Information Bulletin. Applying for CUET (ICAR-UG)-2024, appearing in the examination and qualifying the same does not necessarily mean acceptance of eligibility. The applicant for a particular Subject must satisfy the eligibility criteria as specified in this Information

Age Limit

  • Indian Nationals of at least 16 years of age as on 31.08.2024 are eligible to apply for the examination. No relaxation is admissible regarding the minimum age limit

 

Application Procedure

  • The online submission of Application Form for CUET (ICAR-UG)-2024, uploading of scanned photographs and signatures may be made at website https://exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/. The candidates should complete all the required details while filling up the online form. On submission of details and required fee, a Confirmation Page with Application Number shall be generated. Candidates are required to take a printout of the Confirmation Page and keep it for future reference.
  • In order to appear in CUET (ICAR-UG)-2024, the candidates are required to apply online as per procedure detailed at website https://exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/. Before filling and submitting the online form, candidates should download the Information Bulletin and Replica of Application Form; and read them carefully. Candidates must follow the instructions strictly as given in the Information Bulletin and on the NTA website. Application Forms not complying with the instructions are liable to be rejected.

Examination Fees

  • Examination fees will be charged based on the number of subjects chosen by the candidates as per details given on Page No. 5 of Information Bulletin available on https://exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/

Method of Fee Payment

  • The payment methods as instructed by the NTA at https://exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/ should only be followed to avoid misplacement or non-payment of fee.
  • Generation of Confirmation Page confirms the final submission of Application Form. If Confirmation Page has not been generated, this means that Application Form has not been submitted successfully

 

Exam Cities for CUET (ICAR-UG)-2024

  • The Examination Cities where the CUET (ICAR-UG)-2024 will be decided and finalized by the NTA. The NTA will make efforts to allot a city of examination to the candidates in order of the choice opted by them in their application form. However, due to administrative reasons, a different city or nearby area could be allotted.
  1. NTA reserves the right to allot a candidate to a nearby exam city, other than the one opted by him/her, if need be, depending on administrative exigencies.
  2. NTA reserves the right to cancel/ merge any exam city/center if need be, depending on administrative exigencies.
  3. The Examination City Centre, once opted, shall not be changed.
  4. The decision of the NTA regarding allotment of Centre, Date and Shift shall be final. No further correspondence or request shall be entertained in such case

 

Scheme of Exam

  • The Test of CUET (ICAR-UG)-2024 will be as per the details and schedule defined by the NTA and notified on its website for registration https://exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/

 

Syllabus for the Test

  • The Questions in the test shall be based on the syllabus prescribed by the NTA for CUET (ICAR-UG) -2024 and available on https://exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/

 

Admit Card for CUET (ICAR-UG)-2024

  • The e-Admit Card would be issued provisionally to the candidates through the NTA website: https://exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/, subject to the fulfillment of the eligibility conditions and receipt of the prescribed application fee by NTA.
  • The candidate has to download the Admit Card from the NTA website and appear for the Exam at the given Centre strictly as per the Date and Shift (Timing) indicated on the Admit Card.
  • No candidate will be allowed to appear at the examination center, on Date and Timings other than that allotted to them in their Admit card.
  • The candidates are advised to read the instructions on the Admit Card carefully and follow them during the conduct of the examination.
  • In case of any discrepancy in the particulars of the candidate or his/her photograph and signatures shown in the Admit Card and Confirmation Page, the candidate may immediately approach the NTA Helpline between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. In such cases, candidates would appear in the examination with the already downloaded Admit Card. However, NTA will take necessary action to make corrections in the record later.

 

Procedure of Declaration of Result

  • Candidates are advised to read the NTA Information Bulletin: CUET (UG) – 2024 available at https://exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/.

 

Procedure of Online Counseling

  • Candidates declared eligible for registration and choice filling for online counseling by the ICAR will only be considered for allocation of subject/seat and the Agricultural University. The schedule for counselingwill be notified separately on the ICAR website (www.icar.org.in) after declaration of result
  • The admission and scholarship (if any) would be granted only when the candidate seeks admission through counseling conducted by the ICAR.
